The men who made it all possible. Conceptualizing the trip, executing it, riding long hours, photographying, blogging, PR. Anything is as good as the people in it. The same was true of the GIR. The sum of ll the talents of the individuls who were 24 x 7 in this made it possible for us mortals to make it larger than life...

Some people are born bikers. Gurpreet Singh, a 21 year old teenager from New Delhi is one such person. When he was barely legal to ride a two-wheeler at 17 years of age, he was busy riding around on one wheel on his Bajaj Pulsar 150. So does he find a place here just because he can wheelie? Well no, for him biking is as important as food and water. Even more, he was on a hunger-strike for four days when his folks refused to get him the Karizma. His parents gave in, and he got his bike, which has seen most of its life on one wheel rather than two! Gurpreet believes in riding around one wheel and has added a list of variations, from the flamingos to stand-up wheelies, he also holds the record for the maximum distance covered on one wheel on a Karizma, which stands at 2.5kms! He recently got himself a first version Pulsar to practice even more and put aims to put India on the stunt-world to showcase that we Indian can actually better others around the world, even though the bikes we get here have 1/10 th the power of the bikes used by professionals around the globe.

Gurpreet, famously known as ‘matharu bhai', is currently pursuing BSc in multimedia and hopes to be a freelancing graphic designer, devoting all his free time to stunts. His parents, with time, have started understanding his passion and after reading his article in newspapers and watching him on T.V, constantly support him. What's next for him then? He wishes to showcase his talent to other professionals across the globe and dreams of riding the Gixxer on one wheel some day.

We at Bike India have seen him in action and the ‘big' Karizma surely looks amazing on one wheel. He picks up the bike in 2 nd gear at around the 45km/h mark and balances it all the way to a speedometer indicated 70km/h (with the help of a higher profile rear tyre) keeping it up as long as the road permits! Small crashes have been part and parcel for him, but thankfully he has seen no major ones. Wishing him all the best and hopefully we will see him competing with stunt riders from other countries in a couple of years time!
