BE CAREFUL in purchase of any superbike
by DG
As being an experienced superbiker, I want to make you all aware that all the superbikes brought to India (except officially launched) are illegal. Yes, it’s true. All the brokers involved in this business have only two methods to bring the same here. One
They find some Indian person who has worked out of India for more then two years (generally South Indian guys). They pay him a very small amount to him & bring the bike on his name.
In custom, they show the bike one or two year’s old by removing/ changing the plates & stickers on the frame of bike. After paying a very small amount in the name of custom duty, they sell the bike to some other guy in India.
Now what’s the catch:-
first of all, the theft in custom duty, secondly the bike could not be sold to any other guy upto two years (as per law), thirdly the bike will remain in the name & address of the original guy.
Second method:- its shocking:-
some guys go to Singapore, Thailand, etc. they purchase the bike & de-assemble the bike there only into four or five parts & pack them into 4-5 boxes & send to India in 4-5 different names & addresses. The custom duty on spare parts is 24% only so they get cleared the same in the name of spare parts by paying 24% duty instead of 100% (appox.)
After getting all the boxes, they re-assembled the bike in their own small workshops which consume only 03 hours. And sell to some one after registration in some authority.
Now what’s the catch: - such type of bikes do not exist on papers . The same were brought here in shape of spare parts.
So be careful, if anybody wants to purchase any superbike, kindly go through officially launched variety or brought the bike through proper channel by paying complete duty etc.
