Thats my point too. I think even my pulsar was too fast for the traffic coming back from Manali - one of the est mountain roads.

I so wish I had a F650 or something for a leh trip. However that bike failed when it was launched. Maybe it was too soon or maybe it was becos it was not a SBK. If its later then its sad.

Here people are in a way split between superbikes and tourers and adventure turing. Very few do all or even more than one. I know people who race and have neer been on a overnight trip on bikes. I also have seen a 1200 GS on the track.

Long Way Round was way more fun than Dhoom and Torque put together.

All I am saying is, I would rather see a dual sport in India rather than a SBK. Obviously there is a greater demand because of the oomph factor but thats its. Very few people know what owning a SBK means. I just hate it when people talk about straight line speeds! So what if you broke 300 kph barrier? Any new 1000 cc can do it easily. I did 240 kph on my 10 year old bike which does not have a steering stabiliser and did fine. But it was way way more fun to try and get the riding position right on the track.

I think we as a club, when we support superbikes, we should start to focus of riding techniques rather than straight line speeds.

I saw some great dual sports from yamaha being launched in Europe. I hope they make it to India. and I also wish for a track in North!
