Would you love to ride a electric bike which gives you powerband of 600cc, comes at half the cost, and operations cost is 100th of the 600cc machine? No Oil Change? No Carb tunings, No airfilter servicing .. so on ..
Power transmission is controlled by gears, Power Output of motor is controlled by controllers.
if you use smaller gears you would get good pickup, good for up hills, if you use big gears, you will get more milleage, higher top speed but low pickup.
I have thought of using cycle gear system in the electric motorcycle, to gain the fun otherwise its as plain as Cars with Automatic transmissions
