Day 1: Delhi-Gajraulla-Moradabad-Rampur-Haldwani-Bheemtal-Bhawali- Almora-Binsar
Total Distance covered: 401 kms; Good number of petrol pumps on the way.
My plan was to leave home by 5 am, but due to unavoidable circumstances, got late and left at 6’o clock. There was a nice breeze and could see clouds in the horizon, what else can a biker ask for. After crossing Delhi- UP border one hits NH24. The roads are butter smooth, except for a bad patch between Hapur toll and Gajraula due to road widening work. I stopped at Bhajan Dhaba for b’fast and was the center of attraction there because of the riding gear. Anyways, after satiating my hunger with aloo paratha and curd I proceeded towards Moradabad. The highway is smooth beyond Gajraulla and I was able to cruise at 80-90 km/h with occasional speeds of 100-110 km/h.
After the Moradabad toll, I took right turn by mistake and got struck in a massive jam after Rampur.
After crossing Haldwani, I took Bheem Tal route for Almora. Mr. Khanduri has atleast ensured good roads in the state. Was leaning in and out of the curves and soon reached Bhawali, where I had my lunch.
From there I rode non-stop till Almora and Reached KMVN guest house, Binsar around 4pm.
Costs incurred:
50rs. Breakfast; 130 rs. fuel; 63rs. Lunch; 40 rs. Entry fees to Binsar.
