If you want a power cruiser get the Rocket III. No plastic bits, all metal and close to 150 lb ft of torque. And 2300 cc to boot.

Well, I was warned by Suzuki at the time of taking the delivery that if I ride the clutch while riding instead of downshifting, i will have problems with clutch. So I am careful. However, I have only done 1/10th of the distance on teh ODO so am not at all in a position to comment on if I will have the same experience. One thing I know is that will happen in any machine if one rides the clutch... even in cars this happens.
As far as a Triumph III is concerned, it may be a nice bike, but no support in India means no go as far as I am concerned. On top of it - How much will it cost is also the question. I am sure it can be serviced by dealers but there is always a premium to it - isnt it?
I just finished a solo Delhi - Jaipur - Delhi on the Easter weekend and the bike handled beautifully - The ride was pure joy!

I did get it financed by the state bank. In my case the process was straightforward and it took 3 days for the bank to issue the draft to the auth distributor. Insurance was arranged for by the auth distributor.
