Well.. you don't need to coz who cares where it came from first.. Yamaha made it popular in today's motorcycling world by putting it in the M1 & refining it to the level it can be but to a street bike. The reviews of some famous mags & sites.. as refered by Suren, don't really matter in the racing world, coz R1 is still winning more races than Blade, GSXR & ZX-10r & RSV4 in WSBK.!!

Ya and back to matter ! I m saying this YET AGAIN.. Guys open your eyes and read the post properly ! That personal opinion thing was about the races at Catalunya and Assen , no one talks about it but still keep quoting what i ve said about the my personal opinion !
And about the R1 winning races ! If u accept that the 2004 GP championship was won because of Rossi ! Then these SBK races are won cos of Ben spies ! Proof : Just look at the grid ! how many R1 s do u find ? And the other Tom Sykes ! just try to know more about him ! He s as good as the other guys like Smrz,LAconi etc ! but where is he ? The new R1 is only as good as he is right now ! or else he ll be fighting with the private team guys like Bryne, Smrz etc who ride the 1098r !
And ya when you are less informed about the racing world you will find sense in Satellite s post !
