Default US MotoGP: Valentino Rossi to ride until end of 2013

Valentino Rossi has reiterated his desire to stay in MotoGP for at least another three years after his current contract expires at the end of the 2010 world championship. After winning his 100th GP in Assen last weekend, Rossi said he was seriously considering racing on for at least another ‘three or four years’. Speaking on the eve of this weekend’s American GP in Laguna Seca, Rossi said it was his clear intention to carry on racing for Yamaha. And he said that if he was making a decision on his future now that he would shelve retirement plans until the end of 2013 at least, taking the Italian past his 34th birthday. Rossi, who goes into this weekend’s Laguna clash with a slender five-point lead over Jorge Lorenzo and nine-point lead over Aussie Casey Stoner, said: “I’m happy and if I have to decide now, I feel in a good shape, mentally and physically. I think is possible stay at the top with motorcycles for another three or four years. But I will decide next year. But for sure now the situation with Yamaha is so positive.”
