I dont know where this discussion is going but AFAIK a manufacturer HAS to provide you the following accesories with the bike
RVMs
Saree guard
Front and rear Number Plates...
(now lets not discuss the lights and the blinkers and all :P )

These are things required for the Bike to go through the 'rto' clearance.... I am not to sure if the same rules apply at all the state, but atleast it does in Maharashtra...
And heck they come on the R1 too!!!

Also the use of the crash guard or leg guard as we call it is a very debatable topic.... I have seen people being more hurt with the use of one as well I mean literally people being trapped due to the 'leg guard' and being dragged to ..... err nevermind...

BTW Does the FZ come with a tilt sensor? I can seem to remember!

Personally I used to have it on my RTR as I had once been saved by it when a biker couldnt control the bike in a turn and skid and hit the bike.... had the guard not been there then it would probably hit my legs!! but once it broke, i havent plonked a new on on it yet... so much for the weight reduction!
