It is not just the social side of it that makes us unique, even when you ride amongst a group of like minded fellows you (or at least me) feel privileged to be in the company of few who happen to think along the same lines as you do. And this immediate sense of fraternity bonds you with the group, you are enriched as a person in their company just like how a set of good circle of friends thinking along the same wavelength enrich your experience with them.
