"Auto makers from around the world are getting ready for the big Indian auto market and the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. There are at least 7 new small car models coming in the year 2010 itself. Here is the list of all cars coming to India next year that will also be showcased at the Auto Expo from January 05 – January 11, 2010.
Nissan is ready to introduce its small hatchback model Micra next year. This will be the first small car from Nissan and is expected to be developed on the new global platform. The new model will be powered by 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine priced at Rs 4 lakh and above.
Ford unveiled its small car model Figo last month which will also be showcased at the Auto Expo and more details of the car will be shown. The company has not revealed its prices so far or any other technical details but it is expected to have 1.2L petrol and 1.4L Duratorq diesel engine.
Maruti launched a number of new models this year and is currently revamping all its models with the new K-series engines. It has a strong small car portfolio with models like Alto, Wagon R, Ritz and A-Star. It will be bringing in the new M800 model by 2012 with the new K-series engine so that it meets the new emission norms. However, it does have plans to bring its new premium sedan Kizashi to India. It is expected that it will showcase the model at the Auto Expo.
Other models expected at the Auto Expo are BMW 5 series, Hyundai Santa Fe, Volvo XC60, Toyota Prius and Tata Indicruz. Tata’s new electric model of Indica Vista may also be put for display but the company has not confirmed its India launch so far."

If you look through some of the automobile magazines/blogs/websites from the past few weeks or which a couple a month old, you can expect to find news about most of the mentioned car models coming to India. On the contrary, most bike manufacturers have only speculated about launching bikes in a particular segment, or of a particular type.
Possible reasons could be: They want the hype itself to be a selling factor, do not want other manufacturers to start working on a competitive product and give a tough fight early on, or it could be affecting their stock market postions. Plus the newsletter gives only a preview of some of the models that can be expected there and not all of them. So we can still keep our hopes high
Just my take on it. And as you said, until an update on two wheelers....
