There is no need to surprise because gone are the days when we used to ride those 4-5k bikes. Now it is time for performance machines. In India if you want to get an entry-level mtb hardtail, you need to pay at least 25-30k. For an entry level road-bike more then 25k. For example- Trek's entry level road-bike is of 47k and Bianchi's entry-level road-bike is for 55k.
But there is whole lot of difference these bikes can make. When I rode Trek 1.5 it was surprisingly fast compared to my mtb.
I was cruising at a speed of 50 without much effort.On these machines speed of 40-50 is maintainable for long distances. And you know one thing that speed of 50 is last economy point for most of our Indian motorcycles. Thats why I am planning to get one soon.
