Sajit, i may need your help here. Iam planning to shave the shield of my 220's low beam projector. The shield is restricting a lot of light. What if i remove the whole shield? Or should i shave it? Any design pattern? I need a more intense spread. Would shift to HID's or NB's soon. I want it to spread a bit more to the right.
What if i put this HUGE projector without the shield in my high beam and run dual beam with the low beam without the shield?
Thanks Rahul, if u remove the shield it will be useless as u cant use it as even high beam as the intensity of light is very high in projectors because its focus is very precise. U can try the second option by grinding, but I would suggest u to check that its fixed or removable. If its removable type, u can try with any other metal peice for testing and later on grind or use the metal sheet without hampering the assy. In my case its fully removable and if u remove it, u'll get a search light instead highbeam

Am also working on it as its restricting almost 40% light from the bulb which can be utilized effectively. An OEM wont do this as they've limitations of rules, where as we've some flexibility I belive

Can you please post some pics clicked at night showing the light spread.
I don't mind riding to Cochin if u can do the job for me
Thanks Shree, I just completed yesterday, and didnt get time to take snaps, I dont want to take on mobile as its crap. Will try to take 2day or 2morrow and update it.

I dont think its neccessary to come over here to get it done, as u r the "prime mover" and the motivator in this. So its a childsplay for u man.

Agree with shreeni, do post some pics clicked at night...and if you can compare the two (normal HID and Projector). If possible
Thanks for the appreciation. I've the normal HID pics with me, but its nothing to compare with a Projector as its like comparing day and night. Projector's got a controlled beam pattern and on reflector HID is good for floodlighting purposes In other words, my HID only brought me to this mod. I was fed up of people's staring the light and some even make funny comments like "Kya light hai yar" .

I got a nice dose from a vet car driver for fitting this HID, very polite but it pinned like anything. I asked'm whether its pointing u directly, he said No, but the light is really distracting the concentration and he couldnt resist staring at. What to say? But youngsters will coment wow what a light? whats the watt of halo? how much etc.. Once I was stopped by a cop while checking, but he doesnt want my papers to check, but want to know from where I got this The funny chap wants to know that whether its legal or not I was laughing all the way to home. I used to wonder how there are guys with HID in stock beams managing these
