But Karthik, its very foggy these days, & so i wouldn't advise riding to nandi hills late nights or early mornings.. Moreover, the high fog might prevent you from seeing the sunrise itself..
So would advise you to find out from people who have been there recently..

I was thinking of leaving Bangalore by 5.15 - 5.30am and reaching there by 6.30 - 7am. I agree it would be terribly foggy but the view from the top when the sun does come out (which is around 7am nowadays) is a blanket of clouds surrounding you from everywhere. From a photography aspect, that's what we were interested in

Hence the reason to travel in peak winter. I have gone there in March and there was no white blanket when the sunrise happened
Thanks a lot for the information on the interceptor location. I will make sure i stay within the speed limits

And No, going at nights is out of question. I am a teetotaler, not one of those party revellers who likes to get drunk on the hills
Perhaps if someone has caught this "Cloud-blanket with sun" view there earlier, they could elaborate on when is the best time to go to catch that view.
