Also, several riders will change numbers in 2010, most notably Dani Pedrosa, who returns to #26 having held #3 for some years, while Ben Spies, who ran the #19 in World Superbikes has settled for #11 after seemingly losing out to Alvaro Bautista.

May be Dani wants to break his jinx of coming third in every other race

just to clear this.
Ben raced in the AMA with No. 11. it was already taken in the WSBK by Troy Corser. (TC always rode with 11). Hence Ben used 19.
In Moto GP Alvaro bought his 19 with him to Motogp - this has got nothing to do with Ben as he always preferred 11.
in WSBK & MotoGp riders normally take numbers on the basis on where they finish. hence Dani (if you have been following MotoGp) would either do a 2 or a 3. never the less. this year he has decided to take 26 (his number since the 125 days & favorite) instead of 4 as his team mate had already kept that. this is because Dovi cannot use 34 in motogp since no. 34 (used by the great Kevin Swantz) has been permanently been put away in his honor.
so Ayoma will race with 7 instead of as No. Chris Vermulin means this is vacant. everything else remains the same.
