About the photographs of the Royalty sitting with the "firang", that was Sawai Man Singh II, only the second Maharajah who renounced his power and property to go with the Republic being founded between 1947 and 1950 and the "firang" was Lord Mountbatten who was big time responsible for the peaceful transition of powers and the formation of the Republic! Else most of India would still be a Monarchy!
Did you notice the superb paintings on the roofs of that hall and the magnificent chandeliers made in glittering crystal some 2 centuries old coming from Bohemia?
