I think personally that it is because of the break in procedure where-in your bike is only getting used to RPMs above 4000. Trust me... with somw more kms on the ODO you wont feel a thing.

2. Rear brake dont have a bite. Usually at medium speeds i use both brakes proportionately. At low speeds using both of them is uncomfortable for pillion and when i tried to use only rear brake it has much larger stopping distance.
70% of the braking power in any twowheeler comes from the front brakes. So if you only apply the rear you get only 30%. If you tighten it a lot (and cant make out when to release and start pumping the brakes,) the bike will skid. It happened to me after my second service. I never complained about the rear brakes, but the service guy felt urged and tightened it. then i realized that the bike tends to skid at hard braking, unless you start pumping. And at desperate times, what most people(even me) do is press the brakes hard and forget to pump.... thus skid over.

3. Fluctuating mileages: After first service the mileage figures have gone down to 45-50 range with a pillion and driving around 60.
Even I have no clue what all complex calculations go in when it comes to the mileage of GS. Even mine keeps fluctuating. But the good thing is that its the figures are not heart breaking.

4. Front tire tends loose traction at around 80. Had to lean forward to keep it grounded. I really felt like the front tire has gone airborne. Now im wondering how some guys reported 113 kmph???
I regularly ride at 102-106. There is a nice highway here in Navi mumbai, and cant resist it when i get there. I have once touched 117 when there was no traffic. Not felt any thing like loosing traction or front going airbrone. I guess... maybe its because I am around 90Kilos...
