That they have but yet again something tangible has been lost in the process. The wasted spark would burn the residual mixture still floating unburnt in the exhaust gases as they escaped the cylinder. The sound added to the V-Twin magic I must say. FI is crisp, technically 'right' and reliable...yes. But compare a Kodachrome image with a digital shot
. Thats the difference. And as an after-thought..the 'wasted spark' was never a problem actually, just an imperfection.
