When I started riding bikes, like most people in our country I bought a helmet for Rs. 750/- and did not give it much thought. Then one day while flicking through an old edition of Motorcyclist magazine, I came across an advertisement for Bell Helmets. What really hit me was the headline: '
If you have $10 head wear a $10 helmet'!!! That really got me thinking, have I selected the right helmet????..... and I certainly value my head as more than $10 worth
For me, it started a journey into the motorcycling world and a love affair with bikes that is still going on (and I hope it will go on till the day I have to finally rest and sleep)
Today, when people see me with my Helmet, gloves, jacket and riding shoes, they stare and snigger, some even comment something like 'Bada aya rider bane', but then they are the ignorant ones not us and who are we to educate them. Ignorance is bliss, so let them have their bliss.
Let us count our blessings that over here we have a group of like minded people who can discuss their passion away from the ignorant masses.
