I think this monsoon protection camp is because GS is still prone to rusting.
may be they want to give the bikes an anti rust coating or something.

You got me. The reason why it requires few refills is that since Nitrogen is an inert, stable gas and when air contains only one gas leakage will be low. Some say that tires loses pressure when they are subjected to variable temperature changes, such as very cold in night and hot during day. Keeping proper tire pressure will increase the fuel efficiency as well as life of tires.
The squeak sound from disc brake is nothing much to worry about. happens in most bikes with disc brakes.. just clean it with water(at high pressure) and it'll be fine till dust gets accumulated again.

I seriously doubt if nitrogen filled tires make that much difference. i mean normal air contains about 78% nitrogen anyway.
