Question Suspension comparision

Thanks folks for the replies.

I am thinking about getting a bike almost for an year. Earlier I had decided that I will go for a bike with Mono suspension. Drove Unicorn, engine makes me feel I need more. One of my colleagues has Unicorn but he is all praise for FZ drivabity. So that left me with FZ and R15.

But than came new P220 faster than R15 costing near FZ (8k difference). TDed it found that suspension are good in absorbing pot holes. Only thing I fear is that may be dual suspensions fare well when the bike is new and after 1-2 yrs are waste . Thats what I felt in HH Passion. So thats what concerns me.

I am looking at the comparision for shock up for P220 and FZ. If suspension in FZ is really much better in absorbing shocks than I am going to give P220 a miss.

Please Note: I am not looking at which is better technology. I know mono is better technology. I want to know from users which absorbs potholes and humps better.

Karizma is out of fray as I feel the styling is quite old and did not like the new ZMR in flesh.

If you are more of a relaxed rider and would be commuting more with your wife i would suggest go 4 the YAMAHA FZ16.

If have racing instincts in you, you are more prone in reviving the throttle and whipping past the traffic go for the PULSAR 220FI or YAMAHA R15.

If you as a person who lies in between both of these go for HERO HONDA KARIZMA. it can be used for commuting daily to office, and can be a GOOD TOURER. Reliability, no one beats HERO HONDA.
My commute with wife is limited to 1-3 kms and occasional 6-7 kms thats it.

Yes as mentioned in my requirements, I love to speed past the traffic. Is R15 good for Bangalore traffic. I travel from J P Nagar to Domlur for office. I get severy bumper to bumper traffic (BTM, Koramangla) as well as free roads (Inner Ring road).

TD it and you will feel that the bike has everything you want.

Also if you are considering Fz16 for 72k approx, rather go for a P220 or Karizma.
I like P220 more than Karizma for more powerful engine.

Pulsar, will obviously make you happy considering you are going to upgrade from an activa, but i don't think it fits the role you are asking for. It is a good highway cruiser, for sure but it is not as well built as a Yamaha or Hero Honda. But it has an awesome smile inducing engine.

Karizma, again is too good on bad roads and generally better in corners than the pulsar. but where it is unbeatable is for long trips. But you are not going to do them. so chuck it.

That just leaves the Fz16. It is well built. Is good in the city. It light. Has good monoshock suspension and above all has the looks to delay mid life crisis by at least half-a-decade.

if you are not averse to buying a new bike you can also try the new Honda Dazzler. But as far as my choice goes FZ16 it is.
Thats a good comparision. Would like to know how would P220 fare in city traffic, is it easy to maneouvre? Also what about R15 in city?
