Default thinkin of starting off a bike frame manufacturing unit.

guys, was just wonderin'
m plannin to start off a mountain bike frame building company. y'know just a few high end frames , maybe a dirt jump hardtail and a freeride FS. (just frames). and as of now, no cross country frames and road bikes, maybe later on !

most of the frames would be custom made, like for eg, you need your initials cut out on the drop outs , i can get 'em done , courtesy - laser cutting.

could also make custom disc brake rotors with custom cut outs on the braking surface

still working out on the design of the frames. planning to use aluminum alloy (6061 or 6351) and 4130 cro moly.( cromoly is really hard to source) one more material that i've found out thats got really good yield strength and tensile strength is duplex stainless steel. though not much used on bike frames, is pretty good stregth wise, not planning to use carbon steel at the moment, but still could consider it---its what normal bikes are made of, so not so keen on it.

most of the frame parts would be laser cut or cnc machined.

these are some of the basic things m puttin forth.

now for the big question...WOULD YOU GUYS BE INTERESTED????

Well I think the problem is you are talking about right thing in the wrong place. We hardly know whats 6061, 6351, 4130 cro moly or duplex stainless steel. Now, since we don't know it is better not to unnecessarily stick in our head. Generally you will get "All the best" kind of replies here.

Seems you have done good planning and have a plan but certainly not the right place to discuss. A bicycle forum would be great to get thoughts since there are hobby & pro riders who knows in and out of high end cycle frames. Just my 2 cents buddy.

All the best in your venture !!!

I am damn excited to find someone who wants to change the game in India. Cheers to your idea. Please don't get discouraged by the lack of replies.

Mountain biking is just in it's infancy here. You have the advantage of being one of the first movers. So, you are onto something that will only grow biger with time.

Post on BCMtouring. There are plenty of serious mountain bikers/tourers there. Could you post a little more about how noobs like me could put together the entire cycle with the frame from you. Details about tyres, etc would be very helpful.

Cheers,

Jay
