Default Videos of Charles Lindbergh's epic solo trans-Atlantic flight - 1927

Motorcycling, especially solo long distance motorcycling, carries within it a persona of romance thats almost the same as the journey's of those pioneer explorers of times gone by. Being alone with the machine you are riding and depending entirely upon your skills for riding and caring for it make you a 'brave-heart' in every sense of the term. Flying aircraft and motorcycling have quite a lot in common. The element of risk, the precision in control, the reflexes involved and the relative speed make riding so akin to flying. To get a feel of the similarity, just look into your bike's RVM's while rolling out of a turn and watch the road and horizon get level...

Charles Lindbergh was the first man to fly solo and non-stop across the Atlantic (between New York and Paris) in May 1927. The solitary effort during the epic journey, the challange, the endurance needed in that fight against fatigue and sleep, all inspire respect for the man and his achievement.

The link given below takes you to an interesting web-site, that of a real-estate appraiser in the US who specializes in airport properties and has put together some vary rare footage of the preparations and execution of the epic journey.

Airport & Aviation Appraisals, Inc. :: "When the Job Requires a Special Purpose Product"

When you click on the link, the web page shows 'Part 3' by default. Click on the 'Contacts' tab and links to all four parts get displayed. See them in sequence and you'll end up with the highest respect for this amazing pilot who could do what he did in those times. Inspiring stuff this.

Ride long and safe...

Quite aptly put! Coudnt have agreed more, simply because I adore solo rides.
