Smile help me geeing my laptop from the US

hey guys i have been planning for months to get a laptop from us for my forthcoming MBA. Meanwhile my elder bro bought a nice Apple macbook air but he shall not be heading here India until Dec or earliest by mid Oct.
So in this respect can any of the Xbhpian help me. Like anybody of you or your friends flying here in India from US.
i shall make everything hassle free, by that i mean i shall get the laptop to the doorsteps to any adress in the USA so that he can bring it to India to his place and then i can collect it from his native place as per his/her convenience any place whatsoever like say Mumbai, Bangalore, delhi,.... or even Kashmir.. I hope you get my desperation of getting my hands on my babe(my laptop here).
If for instance the Xbhpian ownes a Yamaha R-15 I'am sure i shall reciprocate his help in a very interesting manner, but i mean same to all the others who could help me.

if not that can anybody tell me how can i ship it to India and what are the diff problems involved and solutions plz... coz more or less almost everyone here can google himself to ship a laptop in India but what are the different aspects which are actually seen by someone who has shipped one to India like duty and all...

Any help in any regards pertaining to this shall be a gr8 help and every word from the fellow Bhpians is more than welcome.

My father's friend often visit India, but, unfortunately they have just reached here in India. If you are thinking of parceling the thing from US to India then be ready to shell out near around 7.5-10% of custom as per my information.

hey I tried getting hold of them but some ppl who have sent the laptop via frights and packaging seemed not that convincing. It would be really helpful if someone could give me his 1st hand experience on shipping a laptop to India and if not that which one shall be the best opt between Fed Ex, UPS and the most unreliable DHL in this respect.

I have come across some interesting websites as well
MyUS - US Mail Forwarding, Worldwide Shipping
which is belived to be a simpler and cost effective but m sceptical in this regard.
Thanx anyways bro

If in case i end up parceling the Laptop I think as suggested I shall cover entirely under insurance that way its lie safe. but still if any more information shall stand more help to me. Thanx

I must appreciate all the xbhpians including Aryan here, trying to help me on this. Plz pour in some more info untill someone is ready to get my lappy over to india or i converge to ship it to india. Thumbs up

I used Viaddress for my US purchases at: VIAddress : The Global Leader in Package Forwarding They offer the lowest shipping rates to forward packages from the US to other countries.
The fact that they don’t have a Setup fee or a monthly membership fee, had convinced me to use them for my last purchase from the states, and I’m quite satisfied with the speed of the processing of my packages.

Find them on Twitter Viaddress.com (viaddress) on Twitter and I got hold of some pretty generous coupons that I used to get some pretty darn good discounts.
