Last year we were a bit confused as to when the World Motorcycle Day was? But this year it has been confirmed that its on 14th May.

World Motorcycle Day - A day to thank to all the Motorcycles which have made a big difference in our lives. A day, where we know and have realized that, thinking our lives without a motorcycle is not possible. The Bikes are more a part of us now rather than just being a commuter machine.

As per Wikipedia - "A motorcycle (also called a motorbike, bike) is a single-track, two-wheeled motor vehicle. Motorcycles vary considerably depending on the task for which they are designed, such as long distance travel, navigating congested urban traffic, cruising, sport and racing or off-road conditions"


Like the definition stated above, we have also assigned the duties of our motorcycle. Though we know that what she is capable of, she can take you comfortably in and out of city traffic and she can cruise for long hours with you just enjoying the ride while touring. Its like a mutual understanding between motorcycle and the rider, and the biggest one IMO being - "you give respect to your Bike and your Bike would respect you too".

Today I would like to thank Sunny ( Sundeep Gajjar) for giving us bikers a platform named - "xBhp" - where More is Never Enough where we Bikers stand as a family, irrespective of the distance. Also would like to thank all the Moderators, Senior Members, and all Biker Friends out here, for helping this platform to reach the level where it is right now.

Lets make today the day where we repeat our pledge as Bikers to Ride Safe and be a Responsible Riders on road, abide by the Traffic Rules and always wear a Helmet and Riding Gears.

May all the Bikers munch more miles ahead successfully with their Bikes and Life - Safely and Responsibly.

This time, it was on such a short notice about the World Motorcycling Day. Hardly had enough time for any plans for this particular occassion. Anyway we hope to be able to celebrate the occassion in the Meghalaya Tourism event programme. Just a perfect timing for tomorrow the 15th May.

However, It would be much appreciated if someone can enlightened this matter.

I have been scratching my head since yesterday about the reason as to why have 14th May been choosen as World Motor Bikers Day? I have seen SAAHAS Motor Sports Jaipur, Motor Racing Jaipur, Motocross Jaipur (Society for Adventure Awareness Humanity & Automobile Sports) accepting registration for this celebration, but nothing clear about the choosen date. Its nothing in relation to the inventor of motorcycles (Sir Sylvester H. Roper, born on 14 Nov.). Its such a big thing and motorcycle clubs over the world might even follow and celebrate every 14th May, but then again questions would arise.

And if we google out "world motorcycle day" you will first find xbhp.com at the topmost with the question (link) When is the World Motorcycle Day? querried by our brother and administrator, which means the rest of the world has never had such a day attributed to Motorcycles and Bikers. And if any club did, at least online we would have known.

In my opinion, the day should have been attributed to Sir S.H. Roper for inventing the 1st Steam engine Motorcycle or perhaps changed the word "World"

Well of course it is a great thing that the organisation has thought of World Motor Biker Day, coz we sure do need to have one day specially for us Bikers . Perhaps someone from the respected organisation can clarify the matter and clear our doubts.

So, don't get me wrong buddies, I just wanted some enlightenment for this chosen date. I don't want to be numb and blank if someone does ask me the importance of this Date. I guess everyone ought to know too. Don't you?



Anyway, we will celebrate and have fun. So...
