A wristwatch is an indispensable item for all of us
A biker’s wristwatch should have the following characteristics • Sufficiently large and clear dial to enable reading the time easily at a single glance • Clear glass that is preferably non reflective. Sunlight bouncing off the dial becomes distracting, annoying and hence dangerous! • Tough strap that should be comfortable and close fitting • Preferably shockproof • Luminous hands are advantageous for night time riding • Water resistance is a must. Preferably go for ones in which the degree of water resistance permits at least swimming, and not just ordinary contact with water splashes. That way the watch will survive riding through the rain. The last thing you would want is for your watch to stop in the middle of a journey and you having no idea of the time! Mobiles have a inbuilt clock, thankfully, so it could be used as backup, though it is cumbersome as well as unsafe to use them while riding to check the time. • For digital watches the stopwatch feature is quite useful for timing one’s runs. There are many watches fitting all the above requirements. I’m not going to recommend any specific model or brand. The rider should just choose his watch with care and it should serve him well! My fellow xBhp-ians can post some other features which they think are necessary, and which I might have missed out. Also, if there is any watch you’d like all of us to know about, please do so. All of this, and the entire thread is subject to moderator approval, of course! |

My world changed from smoke & 2T to ECM & 4 joke!!

Wrong; not for me; I use the clock in mobile & hence no need to carry watch, alarm clock, calculator, converter.

My current watch has a temperature sensor(digital thermometer) and displays ambient temperature... though not a very useful feature.. but gives you photographable temperature data / proof and an upper hand in temperature related arguments .

Having a clock on the speedo is really cool, and useful. I remember the Bajaj Legend scooter, (or was it the LML Vespa? I,m not sure, I was quite small then!
) that had an analogue clock alongside the speedo! So does anyone have any specific watches in mind, or that they own, and would like us all to know about? |
