Default Life's realities on a biking enthusiast from a non life-style perspective

I was talking to a good friend of mine JD666 & we casually hit upon a topic on biker versus life of bike enthusiast & I'd to narrate some reality that's going around. Pls use this thread to narrate some of the interesting (may be sweet or bitter) experience or you've come across in life. But not accidents pls.

Reality #1
I was talking to one of my old mechanic a few months ago & we happened to touch base about the success of Ninja, especially on selling 1000 Ninja's in a year. So the guy said that those are only seen upwards, what happens after a sale, no one knows. So that provoked me asking as why? It was then he started narrating some realities that are little bitter ofcourse.

Most young crowd, that are not so educated, (Thanks to TN Govt & UN to have made a compulsory 8th grade education), but decent enough to read/write & get a driving license , earn quick bucks through small time jobs such as courier & delivery boys. The job as such is quite easy as they make money through allowance everyday apart from salary & commission on daily targets. Apart from this, these guys get a motorcycle & fuel reimbursement; which means, the net salary is almost saved.

Most these guys have a hiding biker inside them & those senses are brushed on this kind of job. First savings with the salary what they do is, buy a Gold chain. Next they start saving toward their dream motorcycle. Be it N250R or FZ16. Once they've bare sufficient for the 1st downpayment, it is then, they realize that Banks do not loan out unless they've an years experience on work to ancestor's details.

Since most these young crowd aren't from Chennai, they've tough time finding a lender & run to Sowcarpet. For the benefit of ppl, who're not aware of Sowcarpet, I need to give a short info. Sowcarpet is a place in north part of Chennai where the majority of Gujarathi population & is almost a closed community with primary business being - money lending. Once they get the finances approved from Sowcarpet, they realize their dreams. Now the point to be noted is that, the money lended can be anywhere from 5% to 95%. Don't ask me how is it possible for 95% finance, that is all a different story altogether & to explain that, I'd need to open a new thread

The bloke who buys a FZ16 enjoys the ride until a day when he made to bite dust by a R15. This is when our joker wants to kick ass some R15 guy & runs to Pudupet. For the benefit of ppl, Pudupet is another real estate where one can find spares of Plymouth to N250R genuine & fake. The mechs around Pudupet have enjoyed the privilege of being around this place calling them "expert" mechanic, who claim to beat N250R with Rx on a straight line . Now, our bloke needs money for which he runs once again to Sowcarpet, but this time not to borrow more, but to pawn (not even sell) his Gold chain that was bought on his first salary. This is when the biking enthusiast gets baptised to poser!!! All he wants is LIVE TODAY!!!

Needless to say that this is the point from which the spiral debt of paying back to get the Gold chain, pay for the debt & not to mention the added expense of fuel starts. From this stage onwards, either the bike is chosen to get covered up for dust or go back to Sowcarpet from where it was financed. Most of the guys like our joker here, find their jobs not paying them higher after 6-8 months & land up loosing not only their efforts & money, but also valuable time. The guy who'd financed, enjoys interest for all these period & starts looking for another potential customer to sell or refinance through the mech around Pudupet or other sources.

Has anyone come across any such intresting life's reality & that are related to motorcycles? Pls feel free to share & give us the privilege learn & to enjoy reading.

Interesting info!!

I think there would not be any dearth of those jokers in other parts of the country. Sad, that for just a day worth living he has to sacrifice the dream which he could have achieved if he would have put in those kind of efforts in a better way!!

I've seen that joker in me years ago..
Here's my story
I was in 6th grade and i was a rookie rider (of kinetic honda) who loves to show off by riding at max possible speed, 80+ was usual. Around a year latter a senior challenged me to race. For this i saved some bucks (all my pocket money) and got my carb tuned for max power.
I lost the race but that guy got arrested.
Because of this incident i never met that joker(inside me) again. And I'm happy about it.
