Default Fading of License and RC

This is a genuine issue that RTA should take up seriously, both my RC and license have been partly faded, i had never exposed them to either sunlight or water ,carefully kept in leather pouch but still it fades....
my name is hardly visible now, such a worst printing and the photo is long gone. Cops here in HYD want a neat well maintained RC and LC otherwise they chalan you , they already know that its RTA fault..when asked one cop simply said " vapas license keliye apply karo" , and we know we have to swarm around the RTA office to renew a license.

any tips on how to sustain the print on the cards? i've tried many ways but still it fades

Best is to get Color photocopy of RC and license and get it laminated (both the photocopy and original). Keep laminated color photocopy with you all the time and keep the originals at home (for city only). Works like charm..

What i do for All my R/Cs is take a broad strip of clear cello-tape and cover it up. my license has been safe since 2002 as a result.

I have a color photocopy of both,it is fine with RC however nowadays license cards are coming equipped with some sim card type... so the photocopy of license would be useless. Also if you laminate RC you run risk of having the print peeled off when the lamination goes off.

But once you peel off the tape the print would also come off right?

This type of RC is already here from some 5-6 years back. So, AFAIK that SIM type connector is never ever used in the whole life of you and your RC card... lol.. No prpblem even if you get it laminated or stick cello tape. OR TELL THE LAMINATION GUY TO NOT LAMINATE THAT SIM TYPE CONNECTOR.
Answer in BOLD.

Wifey got an additional copy of original plastic license by paying additional Rs 30 (with receipt) at RTO. So she has two of them & one cannot identify which is original & which is a copy.

Mine is a book, printed in 1996, still touch wood. Reason? I don't carry it on leather pouch, I always have it in my back pack wrapped up in a plastic cover.

Like you said, the morons who frame the law should think about all these. This country was used to book license (as if they're going to fill with traffic offense on all pages) until a decade ago. I hope they'll change in few years from now.

It is not OK when you use photocopy without the SIM, and regarding laminating the License my question still stands : "what you're gonna do if by chance the lamination gets off after some days /years ? the paint certainly would come off along with it.

you have it in a backpack because it is a book but a leather pouch can easily accommodate a small card and i have it wrapped in a plastic cover too.
I'd prefer a book to a card at least the ink wont come off if you protect it .

But how and WHY? No policeman across whole Indian that I have came across checks the license by any electronic machine? They just see it. What's the problem?
