Default Go to Ladakh with Castrol Power 1 Racing contest Winners

Hi Guys,

xBhp in association with Castrol Power 1 Racing had run a contest here where the participants were asked a few simple questions and were also asked to tell us what riding to Leh meant to them.

We received more than 550 entries, out of which more than 150 answered the questions correctly! Among those 150 people, we have selected these 35 entries based on what they wrote about riding to Leh. Here are the entries...

All these winners have won a can of Castrol Power 1 Racing

Kashif Akhtar: "It means the acme of my motorcycle touring. Very few people live their dreams, I feel I am among the fortunate few.

Mohammad Abdul Moeed: Leh means the world to me. Whenever somebody speaks about Leh, I am reminded of the beautiful landscape and challenging terrain. This ride would transform a boy into a real man, and bring out the true rider in me. Through this ride, I want to promote Peace and Safe Motorcycling in India. I wish to ride all the way from Hyderabad to Leh, enjoying some of the best locations in India. This would be an ultimate test of both man and machine. Lastly, I want to capture every moment of this ride on my camera, and cherish them for life.

Dharmendra: ts is my dream to go to leh!!
It got such good scenery and what a beautiful place it is..
Its a biker's dream to ride over there.. Riding in leh, feels like your ride to heaven.. I've always been tempted to go there.. but never got a chance to visit the place, because of exams and expense for visiting over there!!
It checks our will power, bike stability, and etc.. It's a ride to heaven and a dream come true for a biker to drive in leh!!"

subhash b jadhav In simple words it means going to heaven on my own wheels. Riding is my biggest passion and i love solo trips as long and as far as possible.

Ananth T. E. The very term Leh means "Heavens" according to me! One of the fascinating places on earth and a true example for what Incredible India has to offer! If given a chance, I would love to settle there and photograph the whole of Ladakh over few years and let the world know how beautiful the place is!

Eshan Sarpotdar "It is a trip or an self exploration ride to know yourself truly. It is a dream which can be felt like reality but once back the entire trip still remains like a wet dream for a biker. Leh has one of the wildest routes where the rider is challenged to face with the bike he chooses, he is destined. Castrol has the preferred product which can satisfy the dream to be real.
I wish to unlock this dream soon, just feeling the aura of its presence. When the right time comes iam so sure iam going the nail it... I will witness the silver lining behind the cloud! I will unlock all the answers for my presence in this life. "

sriram Being a relatively new entrant into the long distance motorcycle touring, I am fascinated by the freedom and accessibility a motorcycle provides for taking up these endeavors....and even more so by the endurance and steely will required to make these trips against uncertain odds. Leh, to me is the epitome of all those...a penance in all practicality...riding on a harsh terrain amid harsher climates, pushing your body and machine to their limits and perhaps beyond and coming out of it in one piece and with an experience worthy of such a beating and worthy of a proud remembering. This is Leh, this is the essence of the motorcycling spirit, this is the essence of human spirit.

amit malve Its like heaven on earth. Its a ultimate touring destination for every true biker. It tests the full capabilities of man & his machine. Its a life time achievement.

Prasanna "Peace, tranquility, being one with the heavens.
And kickass place to ride!"

Paramanand Mallik Leh means the most cherished dream for any true indian biker and i am no exception to that.

Ilayaraja R I live in bangalore and ride to the extreme north of india to leh is a dream like to visit heaven and come back. Every true biker must be having this destination in their travel log or plan so as I.

Rohit Chourasia Leh to Me is the Biking Pilgrimage. If a Biker had not done Leh on his Bike, he has not done anything in life.

m arun iyer: Scenic beauty, culture, a place where one goes back to their roots. a place where one goes deep within and comes back with a richer self, it makes you forget the race and gives a chance to get lost in the ride.

hari.r.krishnan when you think about a ride through snowy hills, first place which comes into mind is 'LEH'. I have considered it as the qualifying ground if one want to ride on snow-ridden roads.

Abhishek Bhatt The epitome of biking in a tourer's life. As a tourer you need to see places which leave you spellbound & connects with your spirits unconditionally. LEH is surely one of them & so called biker's paradise. After visitng LEH, I would consider of having done some good touring.

Amitav Mishra "Life...Ecstasy...Heaven
Its my dream to get Leh'd and I know I will do it.I can almost feel it calling me.
Sorry!!! Its too difficult to explain those feelings in words."

Mudit chauhan Leh means .....lets enjoy life, god's creation ,world far away from screwed up world.....pure...

Ketan Malwa To me leh means the ultimate place on earth where a man can go with his superbike. For me its heaven on earth . Its naturality is Awesome that can blow ones mind. Though going on superbike is dangerous but when one takes that risk and stands successful then he realizes the beauty of leh.

Aparajith Leh/Ladakh is the nirvana of biking experience! The region has SO MUCH of beauty to offer. It is not possible to experience it in one trip. Travelling along the highway one can literally see the changing landscape from barren desert on the Jammu end to beautiful green vistas on the Kashmir end. All this is best experienced when you are one with nature - on a bike that exposes you to the elements.

Yogesh Haldipur Leh is Mecca for every motorbike touring enthusiast. It is one place I always wanted to go and now that I have been to Leh, I wish to go there every year.

Shaunak Rajmachikar This would be my first visit to Leh. Never seen Leh but it is as everyone says 'Every bikers paradise'. Was waiting to ride to Leh ever since I learned to ride a geared motorcycle. Finally the time has come. Would be completing my final year engineering examination on 11th June and would be going to Leh for a ride of a lifetime (Sadly going to miss the Sindhu Darshan Festival). Being an avid trekker I've been to Bhrigu and Rohatang but riding in the Himalayas is going be an all together new experience for me.

Abhishek Raghuvanshi "Many people said to me that they experienced Heaven in Leh and I always thought, how do a mountanious area make them feel so. After having visited Kashmir, I also agree that what began as a dream, lives on as an unforgettable experience. O want that unforgettable experience in Leh, want to discover what is the JINX! that makes a man fall in love with a well 'Disconnected Nature'.

Amit Sharma I am still searching for what it means to me as this is just my second year. I am there to find peace I love the fact that most of the region is still very much unplugged and you can take rest in the far off valleys without being disturbed by any calls/ mails. I need to eb there at least once to rethink about the last year of my life and plan for the next year.

Prashant bhardwaj Apart from a perfect touring destination, it also means the place where i can be with my own self and a perfect place to find oneself and loose the same self to the Mother Nature. Ladakh made me realize how beautiful the world must have been before the industrial era began and destroyed most of this beautiful planet.

Jaspreet Singh Leh trip means connecting to ownself, feeling refreshed through out the year. Hopefully will be visting ladakh every two years in future also as there is so much to see and explore..It truly unites me to my soul.

Binoy "Leh means
-a chance to be one with nature
-a chance to ride like I have no worries
-a chance to go on a long honeymoon with my bike
-a chance to experience what others describe as true Nirvana"

Joseph George Never Been There...but from all that i could gather from the internet and my friends who had the privilege of being thr on their bikes it seems like a completely blissful ride and Riding been my passion will surely enjoy the same.

Ashwin Roy I hear about people going to LEH on their motorbikes . Now it is my drem ato finish it and to eperience it.

Siddharth Singh A place I have always wanted to go. A place where I want to be humbled by the mighty Himalayas. A place I hope will help me find myself.

Muthu Kumaran Travelling to Leh on my Bike is somthing i have dreamt about since i was 20 years old. It is somthing like how Neil Armstrong would have dreamt about going to the moon ever since he was a kid. Every person in this world would have a bucket list of things to do before they die. Travelling to Leh is one of my bucket list to do things before i turn 30. Achieving this would not only bring an immense satisfaction but also tells me that no matter how tough an obstacle is, human spirit can achieve it, if we set our mind and soul to it.

Chitrang Jat I am planning to visit Leh since July 2009, when I visited Gangotri by my Bajaj Pulsar-150 from Delhi. Leh (the roof of the world), is full of exceptions and provide unlimited thrilling opportunities of adventure. Far away from crowd and pollution, its refreshing air fills your mind with the exciting thought. It is the sacred peace giving land of lamas with ringing prayer wheels. It has cold desert, where you can enjoy the ride on double hump Bactrian camel. You can enjoy the white water rafting here with mind blowing excellent rapids for beginners as well as for experts. You can enjoy fresh fallen untouched snow and walls of ice on road. You can see the rare monasteries on the peak of mountains. You can see the greenery. You can see the barren land. You can see the snow capped mountain peak. You can see the varied geographical feature in this 01 region.

Anupam Dutta I have been to leh countless times but I have only once driven a bike from manali to leh. No articles, pics and videos do justice to the sheer adrenaline that you get when you are riding on the road. Its one of a kind experience on a bike, on a car it is just an out of the world experience. For a true endurance rider it is a real treat where nature, machine and the rider become one. The enigma of solitude that you Endeavour all through those twisty bendy semi-constructed roads, through pot holes, melting glaciers, snow-mud sludge and desert like terrain cannot be summed up in any number of words. You have to experience it on your own.

abhinav leh means the journey of life time that happens only with the luckiest of luckiest people its not just a journey its more then that.

Kshitij Bhayani It's my dream to visit Leh on Honda CBR250R. I can't imagine the thrill and joy I may get on that day. I am dieing to the achive that dream come true.

Sachin Rana Its like a heaven, i know lil bit about ladakhi culture & their language. Leh is a dream for evry drivers & riders.

All these winners will receive an intimation email within the next 2 days and their Power 1 Racing cans within the next 2 weeks.
