Default Cinemaaaaaaaa - Weekend movies

Lets have a thread to review movies releasing on weekends. Maybe some of them are worth having a movie G2G for.

For instance tomo I see Quantum of Solace. Review after the movie.

Any old/new movies that are currently running in theatres or available on disc should be reviewed here. High def releases too (Read blu ray).

note: All reviews that have spoilers should have a clear [SPOILER ALERT]. Avoid reviews with spoilers.

Pirates excuse this thread.

Saw fashion and Golmaal Returns, and didnt like both the movie.

Short Reviews
Fashion: Somehow Madhur Bhandarkar just failed to strike the chord this time, the whole movie felt far from his realistic cinema concept. It seemed more like routine bollywood meldrama with usual happay ending. Nothing was elobrated, i understand that showing evrything in detail might not be possible due to tme constraint but we (public-intended viewer) cant help it.

Golmaal Returns: Pure crap, if this is call comedy i relly dont wanna laugh. Period.

P.S: My views.

i saw fashion yesterday and i loved it... priyanka chopra pulled off a role which i didn't think she could and she did pretty well as a small town girl who wasn't able to handle her success...
Kangana ranaut was brilliant as the condescending and arrogant show stopper ...as long as she didn't open her mouth ...

all in all a good film which could have been great if it was slightly shorter with a little less flab around the middle

Finally, got to watch the much awaited 'Quantum Of Solace'. It is as usual a stylish Bond flick (like Bond's other movies). I particular loved the way the whole movie has been executed - the strory, the direction, not to mention the action (and the Bond babes as well!).

The whole car chase scene just at the start of the movie sets the tone nicely for the further action packed scenes to follow! However, I did not particularly like the starting credits of this part. The earlier Bond movies had way better 'style' of rolling the credits (the music and the theme) on-screen.

Overall, it is a very good movie in it's own right, but not quite 'up there' with other Bond flicks, but if one likes good action, story, not to mention the classic Bondesque style, then there is no reason he/ she should miss this one.

oops didn't notice that the thread has been approved.

anyway here goes.

QoS - The best bond actor till date (Daniel Craig) + good stunts + entirely a sequel (not worth watching if you have missed Casino Royale) + Hindi revenge masala story.

The plot has no depth and like I said it is all about revenge and stuff - item numbers. The story is as bad as Casino Royale's is good. Watchable once.

I give it 6 wheels out of ten.

Kindly be a bit more verbose with the review. Lots of Tamil movie fans around.

^I was testing the waters .
The movie is about two unemployed youths of 1978 ,ie 30 years back who are funded by a local municipal counselor for doing all lafda things.names are Jay as azhagar and the director of movie Sasikumar as his friend "paraman" .
The story is a flashback and the set is all looks like what it was 30 years back in a Temple side street(subramanyapuram is a common place name) in tamilnadu City suburb.I can understand the costumes ,the way of walking of the heroes etc as I too grown up watching such Bellbottam Pants and Long Collar Shirts with white boots etc .(BTW I was born on 1979 ).
Here is a Sample Pic for our North Indian members.

More here:
Subramaniapuram - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is of a sad end.

Sa-Ro-Ja is different stories inside one story.hmm..something like darna mana Hai way(but not a ghost story).
