Thumbs up A Tribute to Bikers from Top Gear

Top Gear: Vietnam Special was a special 75-minute episode of the motoring series Top Gear.
The challenge, to travel 1000 miles from Hồ Chí Minh City (Saigon), at the bottom of Vietnam to Ha Long city, near Hanoi (Hà Nội) at the top in eight days, was undertaken by regular presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The primary vehicles of this special were motorbikes.

Hammond bought a Russian-built 125cc two-stroke Minsk, May a 50cc four-stroke Honda Cub and Clarkson, who claimed to have never ridden before and knew little about motorbikes, purchased a green Piaggio Vespa.

It was 1000 miles of everything you could throw at a novice rider - rain, traffic, twisty mountain terrain, beaches and unsuitably large gifts from well-meaning travelling companions. Or, as Clarkson put it, a ‘monotony broken only by a light sprinkling of discomfort’.

I was just waiting for this thread to come up ever since I watched that episode. Seems like very few people here watch Top Gear.

It was an epic episode.Being a biker owning a 'killer' 125cc here I could imagine myself in the same place doing the same thing. With each and every kms that passed,I could feel myself falling in love with those three bikes, especially the Vespa.
Jeremy was,as usual, himself throughout the show.

As much as Clarkson hates bikers, but he is one of the best around! I absolutely love the way he speaks; each word coming out of his mouth is tremendous, really..
