@Aryan

Man, u are really a lucky dude!! Almost the same thing happened to my apache, had parked my bike at my home and found it gone in the morning. But this happened almost 3 months ago and the police still havent traced it . And i have no hopes of seeing it again. My only hope is getting the insurance money, but they are taking their own time. Its insured with IFFCO TOKIO and I dont hear good opinions about them!

Anyways on the bright side, I am planning to get an FZ soon

HI guys, kinda new to this site. Hoping to give my to pence into the discussion. I own (or rather "used to own") a 220 DTSi S that was stolen early this morning. I'm no expert on bikes, but only after my bike I realized how easy it is to steal a Pulsar. All you need is a lock cutter and basic knowledge about the wiring in the ignition. If anyone out there has lost a bike to theft, I know your pain.

I have a suggestion. Its simple and probably very effective too.

Replace your fuel cock with a fuel lock.

Yes, i did mean to shout that out. Its available at Bajaj spares shops. Basicaly its a fuel cock (tap) with a key that is almost like the IGN key. The stock one uses a lever for ON, OFF, RES. This has a key that can be removed in the OFF position. This will be a strong deterrant to thieves. Even if they steal it, they can go only a few (2-3) hundered metres before the engine goes off. Its effective when leaving the bike parked outside. Plus, they no one will steal your petrol or damage your hoses trying to steal petrol.

EDIT: In case you are wondering, i do practice before i preach. I have it installed. And as an added protection, you can switch it to the OFF position a few hundered metres before your destination, so the fuel in the carby. is consumed. Then park, remove IGN key, fuel key, and off you go. This way they wont go even 10-20 metres before the engine starves. They'll probably dump it there and run for their lives.

Dont loose the hopes, even my bike was stolen and I got it almost after 1 year
It was stolen in june 2004 and i got it back in may 2005. The guy who stole the bike was fan of superbikes that he saw in Dhoom movie, so he stole my bike played arround for 1 year and during this time he made a bank robery of 18Lacs (reason given in court was that he wanted to buy hayabusa and act in films ) and got caught under this case. The bike was sized from him during interrogation by police. Bike was in the radius of 500ft from where it was stolen for entire year, but i never saw it. He placed clipons and chopped the rear fender. It took 1month more to get the bike cleared from court. Had to spend 1000 for legal fees and then 6K on bike repairs. The starter motor was stolen, and horns and battery where stolen from police custody.

So keep you hopes high, you might get your bike.
