Default I need xBHP's Help....

First let me tell you a little about myself.
I am amateur rider and i am riding a honda activa for the past 3-4 years ,
after a few rides on my friends apache and my cousins bullet
i feel the scooty doesn't have enough power or comfort for me so
i talked to my parents about buying a bike ,
and that's when the problem started .
My parents say that i shouldnt ride a bike as it is unsafe ,
How can i change there mind so they understand that bikes are safe
if riden correctly.I love bikes like crazy

pls help me in pursuading them .

Frankly speaking, anything with two wheels is unsafe on Indian roads. I can understand your plight as I have been through the same ordeal. Thanks to my parents I was saved from the evil clutches(pun intended) of a scooter.
Get your parents together when they are in a good mood. Try talking to them calmly and explain the merits of motorcycles. Stress on mileage and mileage alone. That usually gets them.
Gather loads of bike magazines. Tick mark all the bikes that you consider good. Write the pros and cons of each of them over the page. (Read the ownership threads for this info). Leave the magazine where your parents can see it.
Tell them about the better brakes, better suspension, better handling. Dont go in much details.

Request them politely and tell them the benefits of a bike.

If this doesn't work, try the following.

Tell your parents that you don't like the scooties since girls ride them mostly. In addition to this you can tell them that, this is the age for you to ride bikes. Tell them that you feel inferior as compared to your friends who own bikes and they make fun of you. If this doesn't work, tell them that you won't eat food until they agree to buy you a bike.

P.S: Try this at your own will. Don't blame me afterwards.

Hi..I guess one way for you could be to introduce a friend who rides a bike to your parents and perhaps he can tell them the pros of having a bike. This worked out for me the first time I had to face a similar situation.

All the best..!!

oh man....ive been trying to explain my parents the same...

first of all EVERY vehicle is EQUALLY dangerous.
the "FACT" that scooters are more dangerous than bike is a myth.on a 2 wheeler in the city you can max do 60-70kmph,both scooters and bike can do this speed.
speeding is not dangerous...speeding at the wrong place and time is what makes it dangerous.when there is very less traffic no matter what, scooter or bike you will ride around 60 and 70,no male can be calm enough to ride at 40 on a plain empty road!!
when you are at these speeds, scooters are very dangerous due to the small tires etc,you will always have better control on a bike than a scooter. You can easily expect a hole in the Indian roads on the best highway too,a scooter can EASILY loose control.

Scooters are for women because most of them don't ride fast.

for men Bike is always safer than a scooter, but not when you have unwanted adrenaline rush and a stupid brain.

im saying all this from my experience, ive been riding and aviator and i always felt unsafe in spite of being a calm and decent rider.
