There is absolutely no need to change disc pads.. i have seen this happening in car service centers where the customer is told to change disc pads even if they are not worn and then the same disc pads are transferred to some other customer for lesser price.... guys be careful abt it... i have seen this in toyota workshop

Vinay, No, I am servicing my bike every 1000 kms. It is 3166.
I have done 3500 kms till date and more than 3000 in City.
KOLKATA is quite busy and have to change plenty of gears.
Everyday I do around 35 BUMPERs to and fro from Office to home.

did they use a solution to clean fuel injector?

cost of disc pads is 2200..these are nissin one.. i would suggest that instead of those nissin ones u can go in for local ones for around 250rs...after atleast 15k kms
Mohsin, Yes they used a solution. My SVC is absolutely fantastic now.
More so the guy who takes care of my bike.
He takes care like his own child and very finicky and meticulous.

RTR's pads are straight fit and 350rs for original pads. Atleast they are not local.
Shreeni, good idea man. But would prefer to go original HH ones.

As you may know my bike is after 4th service and completed 10450 km...........I have no problem with my disc pad. I think, my friends who even have completed 12000 kms havent changed disc pads.................If it is good only for 3600 kms, why should you spent Rs.2200? You should try that of Apache's...........

BTW, this thread have developed as a ownership thread, I want to ask 2 question which we need to be get answered for better services

1. Are you satisfied with the Service getting from SVC? If No, would you please to post the reason....and SVC name if u like...........
2. Are you satisfied with the availability of Spares or are you satisfied with the support of HH in providing spares which re not available at SVC when you need one?
Praveen, I am afraid to talk with you. I admire your touring spirit and in awe of it. Respect you a lot man.
Answered your query above. The SVC guy is too good who takes care of my bike.
In fact I have access @ inside the servicing bay. I am fortunate to have this nice guy @ SVC.

He is more designated for ZMR Servicing and since this is open o SUNDAYs it is convenient for me also.
I oversee the entire job that is been taken care of.

by the way
fuel injector is of Rs8000

hh has introduced indian disc pad for Rs 1020
RTR pads are also good option
Manan, how is the quality of Indian Pads? Any idea.

Possibility #2 - There are every chances that ASC guys take off your pads and put worn out pads and claim ur pads are worn !!

Earlier my Unicorn pads lasted for 20K+ kms. It basically depends on how you use it. But for 3000+ kms pads won't wear out even if you do stunts.
Shreeni, SECOND possibilty is ruled out. He brought it in front and showed me.
May be I go in for original one and refitt to check when it recurrs for the second time.

Yes I used for the first time to check the difference, if at all.

Mohsin, Yes it does happen but not in this case.
I have felt it with my hand but will last for 2000 kms more at max.
In fact I could feel the difference in front braking also.

Thanks ALL for your quick and prompt inputs.

BTW I had a small TRIP of 260 kms with my wife on JANMASHTAMI in a section of Golden Quadrilateral.

Will be posting the Report soon.

@stayajitrc: You have wornout the pads so fast I think better talk with the service guys... Praveen has done more that 10000kms I think it will be better if he throws some light on his pads condition

one doubt guys after I rip my bike for some time the bike is smelling like heated plastic or wires from near the fairing around the engine, but it is not there when I am riding normally any of you guys observed that....

This was used by HH by themselves or you gave it to them to use it?

Used by HH SVC for persons willing to do it.
Did this for curiosity and performance checking?

Good point FRIEND. Will call you if it happens for me.
In fact I suggest all ZMR owners should share their numbers amongst themselves.
