Default Karizma ZMR ride report and first impressions

(Mods please dont merge this post into any existing ones...please!)

Where do we begin, where do I begin?! The evening had ushered for this much awaited marvellous day and all of a sudden, there was peace surrounded by high excitement! Only me and worrisomebear knew how it would be like sleeping tonight. All these months of crazy reportings, those long gtalk chats, years of awaiting, scoops on statistics regd the new ZMA, the ads for the same, how would they be, it was all worthy reflecting on. And somewhere down the line we knew a day like such would be arriving and here it was at our doorstep.. It was about time & we took the final step!

So, i shall divide this post into two, this being a day one ride report and next the main one, the proper lot of photos and videos and much more to follow.

To begin with, a few firsts first! This was going to be the first delivery of the ZMR in Mumbai and Mohsin aka Worrisomebear is the owner of the bike, not me! And,even more importantly, this is also the FIRST White ZMR delivered to a customer across the country. We had ample reason to celebrate, and we did it and how!

It was a dull day and the only thing exciting was going to happen in the next few hundred minutes! We reached Mahim as soon as we could in the morning as we had a lot to do on that day. The Fortpoint people wanted to do a special something but Mohsin wasnt keen. We just wanted the baby now and real quick. The bike was at the premises and I did a quick p.d.i. Everything seemed ok, it was time to pass the keys. Smiles were aflutter all around and the ACP of New Bombay police had been called over to deliver the keys to the man. The Fortpoint manager was all smiles as he congratulated Mohsin on the first delivery. The ear to ear grins were to be seen to be believed. All was and without losing a moment, the bike was ushered out, the small coconut ceremony was performed, rvms adjusted. Kids around the place flocked to see the beast roar into life and within a few seconds we had hit the road. The Karizma was back to where it belonged and ruled! Met Kevin on the way.

A few features of the ZMR:

>Advanced Disc type Self start motor

>Heavy Duty cam chain

>Maintenance free Cam chain tensioner

>Clutch life enhancing Anti nick slot clutch outer

>Anti judder clutch plates

>laser drilled 12 hole injector

>optimal auto enriching system with Idle air correction valve and stepper motor

Then on, until we reached Metro tyres, it was only one sight to be seen and made me reminisce of the same 6 yrs back..." Heads turning all the degrees one can imagine"...back right left up and down!! The white looks a real stunner and at one point we were riding alongside a Honda Civic and the new City, it was a sight to behold! Superb stuff!! Bikers started coming upto us asking the new usual questions(yea!).." when did you book the bike?? Where did you book?? How much did fortpoint charge, its a 3 month waiting period they say etc etc etc". Still remember people asking, boss kitna mileage...Times have finally changed!! Thank you HH for creating so much hype around the bike and living upto it.

Finally weaving through traffic we reached the bike capital of Mumbai and this is when the fun started!! The owner of Metro tyres stood up and was so astonished to see the bike land there. And then the rest is history. For as much time we were there, it got hysterical. Swarming like bees, bike freaks, everyone on the road would stop by for taking pictures and get mesmerised by the beauty leaving them all smiles! It was the same when the ol Zma came and got even better now. Heck I should begin a reactions thread for the same..." Oh f*** its the ZMR, oh shit! the Karizma is here...goodness gracious its here, woow, waah, unbelievable, f***ing sexy mann, gosh its HUGE, solid stuff, congratulations brother, what a stunner she is, marvellous, amazing yaar blah blah blah...." We were there and we were just listening with sheer delight. And to add to that, half of the words were from fellow Pulsar, Yamaha, Suzuki owners who were around nearby. It was a crazy sight, people spotting the bike from the road, taking a U turn just to watch it back for a brief time before trying to take their looks off and then again sneek peeking through their RVMS!! It was absolutely awesome. Much to our delight a P220 fella came to get his tyres changed and all the while till we were there, he was always around the ZMR. The only moment i saw him not around was when he went to select his new tyre set!! Otherwise everybody was shutter happy...Click click click!! On road, the ZMR is a head turner and it does that with so much good effect that you want to look at it for long long and long. Its like a real beauty, making you to look at it, and tempt you from all its gracious angles.

Finally, the Michelin was assembled and off we were to remove the saree guard a little ahead. And then it was the highway run back home. A few observations here.. The seat is the same ZMA seat and thats why one cant sit behind for long. You want to be in the riding position rather than behind. The GRS do their duty and gobbled the worse of potholes with elan. The rear grab rails were splendid. The curves aid to the grip and the rear disc brake is plain awesome...great stopping power! More on the details later..

Heads still kept turning, now from the 4 wheeled people as they dazzled at this beauty from their air cooled cabins. Heck, some even started snapping!! All sights to see, it was a smiling journey all the way back home. It was the longest time I had spent riding around the city on a bike, as normally so much time is spent touring. Yet it was a comfy experience and adding more foam to the rear seat will make it the best. I rode the final few kms on the highway and the f-i really helped in zipping across lanes.. more on it later!

A very happy Mohsin there!

As we finally rolled into the parking lot home, the beast had finally arrived! But a proper lot of photos werent done up. As everyone would ask, is it worth buying, it doesnt look good at all in the photos, it seems overpriced etc etc...Catch all of this in the second half with our ride report and reactions thread! Wallpapers coming up as well.

Stay tuned!

Thank you all for keeping patience for the post. Would like to sign off for the moment saying, the best lot of pix is yet to come.. Keep a little more patience for it!

^^I think that zma belongs to mehul only.

And not that cant be R15 tyre as the rim is standard 18 inch that of zma.

And i think the M45 is a 120.
