Default Suzuki Zeus...............unexpected performance !!!!

I am very eager to share this with all my fellow bikers..................I possessed three bikes, a pulsar 180(black v),a Fiero and a Shogun........among them two are Suzuki products but both served as my speedster projects rather than motorcycles for daily use.Shogun is madly tinkered and Fiero is a fast mod.My P180 is still with me but most of the times is mainly ridden by my friend. So I urgently required a commuter vehicle for my daily commutes as I started actively participating in the family Business.....in order to make my future and affording a Hayabusa and a Fortuner in the near future. So I went flat out made my commuter decision of buying a Suzuki Zeus coz it has all the fancy bits and looks good being a commuter.........But I am totally shocked at this bike now !!!!!! Maybe sumthings different I underestimated this bike by its paper figures, maybe u people can help out understanding what this bike is actually !!!!

Here it goes, till second service of the new vehicle, the bike remained luke warm........neither providing good fuel efficiency nor providing power......it even lost to a Platina once The suspension usually jerked me off the bike.I complained all these to the Suzuki Service station when I left the bike there for servicing, they told me that they would do whatever seemed possible for me.The real revelation came to me after it went through its second service.

The Revelation : What I found is that this bike is much more than commuter..........first to note was its amazing handling,in the daily city traffic, the bike finds spaces even in the tightest of streets and cuts through narrowest of tar available. On slightly open and curvy city highways, even few 150ccs failed to catch up !!!! Also some cars such as Tata Sumo, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet UVA who rode fast to cut me off(the usual no space to 2 wheelers during commuting hours ego)failed. Then I tried to find out what is it being a 125cc, and it went faster than Enticer,Gladiator,Discover 135,Flame and Stunner!!!! The only bike it lost to this is the Wind 125 but remained at the elbow while reaching hundred. After reaching hundred.......this bikes remains there for hours if the roads permit, but not a single complain from the engine !!!! I roughly commute 40 kilometers daily and my fuel expenses for a month is 600 rupees only now !!!! Whats more............gears shift remains silken smooth even after the fact that I and done clutchless shifts too many times on this bike-something not expected from a 4 stroke.

Honestly speaking.........at this levels of performance it negates all the facts that comes out on the paper that its 8.77 bhp only and fuel efficiency is lower than most 125s.
My question here is.............is something different with my bike??? or is its Zeus's true nature??? I dont understand how the XTP may help in this matter but its making me think that 8.77bhp+XTP is something different especially as Suzuki is now offering XTP even on Bandits !!!! I am new to 125ccs but the thought of Pulsars in my RVMs always instills a curiosity and a fear that my 125cc is highly tuned and may blow the clutch plate and engine one of these days............truely speaking I never expected this kind of behaviour from a 125cc......the enigne is rev happy too and makes a lot of noise. It revs till 8400 rpms while shifting gears and till 9000rpm at standstill.

I need to understand this bike...........any suggestions appreciated.

Ill have to challenge you to a drag race to find out more. Lol! just kidding. Im guessing its the way you feel about your bike, like each one of us does, and thats why the performance and the running is so special to each one of us. Guess you are on your way to be one with your machine! Cheers!

From what you have experienced "600rs for 1 month with daily commute of 40kms makes it 1200kms for just 600 rs of petrol"
and finally an average of 96kmpl. Nice.

96? And you say it's got better fuel efficiency than most 125ccs? C'mon, you shoulda got atleast twice that figure (LOL, only kidding). Nice to see your love for your new ride... keep it well maintained and enjoy the pleasures of being astride it every single time.

Hey, its not my bike read the name of the thread starter. I think you are considering me as thread starter.

Analyze the figures he had written and you will know the mileage the Zeus is extracting.

now thats what I feared ,most of you would rubbish this claims........but it is really happening such, I just dont know how the petrol bills never go up now............whereas initially it so happened that I have to refill every four days !!!!!

@jd66.......U r welcome to drag my Zeus if you have a 125cc, if you have sumthin higher then I will drag in my Shogun....its simple

and I hate commuter bikes.............so if theres this thinking that I am goin emo and gaga over Zeus....its wrong.Anyways awaiting more suggestions

With 'you' I meant the thread starter and not you.

I no longer own the Zeus.........pulled of my mods, exchanged it at Suzuki with the GSR150........so this thread for me all but done.Mods can close the thread if they want to
Or keep this for other Zeus/Heat owners as a thread of ownership experience.
Its the mods prerogative
