well i had stopped riding bikes from 2008 because needed something better when it came to indian bikes. since i have previously owned a comet everything else was a compromise but my frustration began to built up by 6-8months so i decided to buy a bike now the question was which stallion should it be ? so then all the online searches, friends reviews and that made it even more confusing
by that time the ninja 250 was already up for booking, gave it a thought, but the problem was i wanted a bike which would be more fun to ride with my biker pals. i know it feels good when every one is on a indian bike and ur on a ninja 250 or Comet but wanted something which i can ride every now and then even to the nearest chai wala and is easy on the pocket if i have a fall (God forbid "touch wood") and is fast enough when i want to rip it. Well finally it was the new P220DTSi for just 80K that was a steal. well then suddenly i came accross joel's thread (Auto Track Magzine R15 shootout) i was bumped now and i had always been a fan of joel since the V-twin fiero + i knew he's reliable and his works are reliable too so i PM'ed joel took all the details took his suggestion which bike to buy he clearly said the R15, then n there i decided that i will pimp my R15 took details from joel about when i can come and get the works done. so 25th Sep got my Yellow R15 did a 1500kms run-in and on 13th Nov i started for bangalore on my R15 2074kms from calcutta via chennai reached bangalore in 2.5days so finally my frustration was over anyways thats a different story coming back to the topic now my bike is just awesome. i weigh 80kgs and i have clocked 148kmph on my R15 well it's really hard to keep up with the RPM's because it hits the rev limiter in just no time. As for the mileage i'm getting a decent 35-40kmpl.At the end of it all whenever i decide to ring that throttle i have a "huge grin " inside the helmet and i thank joel ![]() Works Done big Bore 165cc , high compression engine, ported cylinder head with revised flow geometry, alterated ECU settings, modified intake, custom profile camshaft and custom exhaust (Chromed) thanks for reading guys i'm not much of a writer but tried my best to keep it short and simple ![]() here are the pics of the bike sorry these are the only pics i have after the mods |

coz i weigh around 92kgs and i have clocked 142kmph on the speedo and my r15 is completely stock. Ofcourse it was not a straight road it was a bit inclined southwards that is . But still i am able to manage 132-135kmph on a straight road.....

![]() He is very cynical about making it a street friendly setup rather than a full blown out and out a few races meant performance setup!

@L.P, @abhayshanu thanx guys
@satyenpoojary well i cant exactly tell u about the grin but it's doin all this when it's actually running very rich@darkknight well trust u wont regret it at all. as for me riding to bangalore always wanted to do a road trip so wat better reason could it be. @jd666 well for the pricing i would suggest you PM joel as for the reliability factor as joel said it will as reliable as any stock R15@tulinisarg well i'm talkin about speedo to be honest it's quick to 145kmph crawls after that wind plays a big role for me when reaching 148kmph some times i do sometimes i dont and besides that i cant blame the machine because i'm running Front 23 Rear 26 + i was a completely straight road with no incline |
