my first bike too!!

it was a top of the line :P Shakti 3G.

there used to be a 2G, turo2G (cool styling and alloys) and a clutchless version too.

power rating was 4.15 bhp and it was featherlight so much that if you place some heavy object on to the front carrier it would actually ride better. and those impomprtu wheelies... just wow!!

it would stay ahead of 4stroke HH Splendour uptill the speeds of 50kmph. my classmates were amazed at that.
i feel so good that my first bike and current bikes are 2 strokes.

I had mine for a quite long time, it used to pull triples with 75kg each from college to home...at times had taken that to ooty from Mettupalayam and it would work wonders in corners, one of my friends had a Kinetic Spark, we were used to rip on those...never knew about all these helmets and gloves...

My uncle had owned one in white, dont know which version though (was very small then).

My first experience in riding a Hero Puch was during pre university days, a friend had one. He had parked it in another friends house from where i flicked it for a ride. Lovely experience though.

What a wonderful thread! I remember the days when there were so many of them on the roads. Was crazy about the white mag-wheels one. I had sweared to everyone that I will buy it when I grow up

I remember the moped having a cap like thing for the fuel cock(Electronic version) Being the naughty boy I was, I used to change it to the mark "Res" for reserve thinking it was for rest, in my apartment. The poor uncle used to have his petrol completely drained since he used to use it occassionally. Got caught once and he explained. Did the same thing again and almost got thrashed. After crying a bit, he let me go. Hehehehe...

I ve never noticed this thread existing in xbhp !! i would never ever forget this moped as i learned my first lessons of motorcycle on this puch automatic !! my dad had this for 8 years from 96 to 2004 and i learned to ride it when i was in 5th or 6th std inside our colony !! it was so lightweight and used to return some 80kmpl to him (dad bought that thing just for its fuel efficiency in those days)! my cousin brother too had this hero puch with just 2 gears and i mastered the art of gear shifting without popping wheelies in that . But both of them were giving too much troubles later , whenever he takes it out during rains, it would stall on the way (though pushing it was so easy ! ). Finally he sold it for 2k bucks to some guy and bought an activa.

Thumbs up

Great initiative for starting the thread there!!
Hero Puch is definitely, a forgotten hero.
Well, I owned a Hero Puch 2G for an year(2003-04) and obviously it was my first one! Sadly, I never took a photo of it. One thing that made me very happy - it had a great acceleration for a puny 65/70cc!

Yesterday I saw one Hero Puch Sakthi...very well kept at OMR Chennai..I stopped him to just speak to him...he was a young guy studying in Satyabama....He took it for 1.5k and restored it very well.
