Dat's pretty cheap for crash guard, i was plannin to chrome my rusted one for 200, i'd rather go for a new one now. Did u buy it from the showroom itself or a local spare parts shop?

not from the showroom..but from an authorized TVS spares dealer.. now it would cost about 300 bucks approx.

Thats a very well maintained bike! I assume you must have bought your bike in 2006. I bought my red apache in 2006 as well, but I have done a paltry 25k kms. I agree wholeheartedly to all your observations.

I hope to do the following for my bike once i bring it from Coimbatore to Bangalore. Do pour in your suggestions as well.

: Suspension Change - There is another Apache in the house, an orange RTR eFi, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the ride quality that rtr offers. So i plan to either change the rear shocks to the ones from RTR or get the whole swingarm+monoshock from the Unicorn. Dont know how feasible it is yet, but I hope to get some ideas on that.

: Clutch Cabling - There is a difference in the way the clutch cables are routed in RTR and Apache. My bike requires constant clutch tightening to keep it running, hence i assume the problem to be in the cabling and other associated parts.

:Engine : The 150 is a harsh engine, no escaping that, but I wish it had more grunt considering smaller vehicles whip us these days. Hence the joel treatment is pending including a lighter exhaust. Will keep you guys posted on that.

:Tyres - Having run very little, I have changed the tyres only once. The rear tyre was changed at 17k kms to a 100/90 Dunlop Geo Cruiser. The front seemed fine but once the RTR also came, I changed the front tyre of the RTR to 90/90 Zapper F (same as P220), and took the brand new 90/90 TVS stock tyre to my bike. Both the tyres are running fine.

brakes: I wish to change the front disk assembly to RTR assembly. For which i need to change the front suspension fork tubes, so thats another change I foresee.

So basically I am looking a new life for my bike, and i hope to complete this in a years time,

wow dude dat'll cost you 15k atleast, u sure u wanna spend that much on that bike, u can rather sell your bike for a good price since its not done much kms take that money add that extra 15k to it and the remaining u can easily pay off in installments and buy an actual rtr.

Can you find out the price of the rear shocks of RTR ?? and also going for the monoshock treatment might be a little expensive plus you must go to the right mechanic who can do the job very well

I have no such issues with my clutch.

If you do meet joel, find out if he makes FFEs for Fieros/Apache 150s.. Coz i cant see any on his website.

I didn't really find the need for the 270mm discs of RTR..my 240mm discs are doing the job just fine
So basically I am looking a new life for my bike, and i hope to complete this in a years time,

Yes, you just gave the practical solution, but no, the bike is too sentimental to be kicked out of my garage.

hence all this is planned, and if everything goes well i would like to have a 500+cc bike as my next bike, hence the little Apache will fulfill the duty of the small urban bike.

yes, I shall find the cost of the rear rtr shocks. the monoshock and swing arm shouldn cost much but executing the job will be critical.

I once met joel 3 years ago, thats when i rode his mental 200cc fiero and that was the same day he cracked 144kmph on the sigma. I think he can fashion you an FFE for A150, but yes, the gains are with the RTR..

The reason I say 270mm instead of 240 mm is that currently the 240mm disc is more expensive than the 270mm disc.

I shall keep you guys posted on this.
