Default Its a street m/c

@beetal: This bike is for the city streets..good low and mid range power and torque..not sure that it would be the best tourer..

@vinfreak: why r u disappointed? If u want more performance then u can buy R15. Cant u see Yamaha is following its international standards in India too by giving two different types of bikes in the same capacity??? like R1 and FZ1...why disappointed??? Think!!!

Moreover, its not gonna go anywhere near to 130kmph forget about 132!!! OVerdrive has a first ride report and they say that Yamaha claims a top speed of around 115kmph, which is a norm in this class. So relax all of u!!!

@the Greatest ever; disappointed cos theres nothing new on the bike other than the looks. The pricing also looks way above than what it offers. not demeaning yamaha but for 75k, RTR FI offers a fuel injection same capacity but a more powerful engine..clip ons and rear disc brakes.
If you go by international standards then whers the techonlogy on FZ 16?? Its not about performance or chosing R15 over FZ16, my point is on the value for money.
buying a r15 will surely make you feel satisfied for the many firsts the bike has introduced in the indian market and that justifies its high costs (high rnd expenses) but not so with the FZ16
anyways not trying to be infalmatory here..just posted my 2 cents on the bike..everyone has his own opinion at the end of the say..PEACE!!

You might have a point there.. but I also believe that there will be many consumers who would be ready to pay the premium for a bike which looks handsome and different from the rest of the crowd.

How often do we get to see guys putting FAT after market rear Tyres on their bikes... So at least here they are not having to spend on it (Unless they decide to put an even fatter rear tyre..!!).

@vinfreak..
what i completley agree with ur point that compared to technology and features and in a one to one the RTR-Fi proves to be a better option..but what i can just say is that maybe the extra price is because of other features like those fat tyres..mono shocks..radiater..and ofcourse the looks.
apart from that as far as my experience goes..the riding pleasure would be better on the FZ16 since they the yamaha guys have worked on mass centralisation for this bike. but this is just my guess..i have ridden the RTR and its a great handler..probably the only R15 beater in india.
Rest i like the bike ..but didnt compare it to any other..or else i would have posted what u did

Default Hmmmm...

@payeng: Point taken..but only till yamaha sells bout a few thousands on the FZ16..anyways credit to yamaha for the new styling and the tires..lets see how it works for yamaha.

@R-Series: It does have a mono shock absorber but not sure on the radiator as its an air cooled bike..

but iam sure many of us would fall for the looks of it if not anything else and during these times where loans are readily available and many people with fat pockets..75k wouldnt be a show stopper.. All the best Yamaha..!!

@ vinfreak: You have a point, but it clocks fastest 0-60, it looks unique, it has yamaha refinement like Gladiator, it has yamaha name, it has yamaha performance ...

I mean, even torque is performance .. right, not only bhp's...

I'd prefer it over Pulsar 150, on overall betterment & refinement ... remember, Pulsar gives 14.1 bhp & this bike 14 bhp (at crank), it's an obvious choice, even for bhp-fans ...

---
BTW, this 115 kmph is "meter displayed", and may have less real speed ... Bike India says so ...

Bike India days 0-60kmph in 5.5sec and 0-80kmph in 11.xx sec, and top whack of 111kmph (true speed.... indicated 118kmph)

I will check out the bike today..... getting too exited as I've heard a lot goodies abt this bike...
