When I mean quality, I'm talking about silly oil seals coming off, oil leaks, tappets popping off, and a million other niggles. The aluminium engines are not as reliable as the iron blocks although efficiency has improved by a huge margin. The tappet issue is more in the aluminium blocks.

Like I said, if only quality could improve.
Yes sir, thats precisely what i ment too by the last line. I have seen many more scarrier issues like Tappet jamming the engine at 60 kmph. Also the tappet seem to wear a bit too fast on the newer blocks.

I dont know if anything was done when UCE contruction was done. Its going to be a lot more difficult with UCE to remove the entire tappet setup compared to the older engines. With the renown quality in all our FI bikes I dont know how it will be when it comes in the Enfield flavour.

Yup, will be interesting to watch that. Hopefully the new hydraulic tappet solves the tappet issue? I have no idea. Twin Spark owners must speak.

I just do not agree with this thing. i am sure we do under stand that the review that we are talking about is done by MCN. these are the guys who also test and ride the big bikes like HAYABUSA, HD's, YAMAHA and all that literclass things. so a punny underpowers RE is what they think this is. the bike does not have any changes in the sitting stance. just just think about it

Deep - I agree. But thats in their own context where RE isn't even considered as an option. The ground reality in India is hell different. We consider 27hp to be an extremely powerful engine in India! So the review doesnt really apply much to the Indian market and even if its underpowered for them, i've done Ladakh and come back impressed!!
Of course the quality is crap but its super cheap to fix things and move on. So i'm not cribbing.
