Smile XCD Sprint is Coming in December!

December: XCD Sprint is Coming!

Quote:
In between reports of plunging sales figure and plans of trimming its production, Bajaj Auto has announced the launch of Bajaj XCD Sprint by the end of this year. The bike was on display at the Auto Expo earlier this year and model was quite a crowd puller. BIKE India had reported about the new XCD launch earlier.

New models by arch rival like Honda CBF Stunner, TVS Flame and Yamaha Gladiator had created quite a stir in the 125cc segment sometime ago. But now Bajaj expects to ride high on the new models and is hoping to jazz up it's sales figures with their launch. The motorcycle community is also abuzz with rumours of a bigger Pulsar.

Coming back to the XCD Sprint, the unofficial information is that the bike will be powered by a 4 valve - DTSi engine that can develop 12.5 PS of power and 10.3 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. Reports further suggest that the bike will feature a five-speed gearbox, gas suspension, alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and LCD digital console.

Since the Bajaj XCD Sprint is targeted to combat the TVS Flame and the Honda CBF Stunner, expect the on-road price to be close to Rs 50,000.
I say: With a price of 50k on road, it will compete with Stunner ...

But! Performance "seems" better here than Stunner (Read 4 valves!)

and yes, 50k's possible too! Seeing Platina 125 @ 44k something ...

The Digital Display is same as Discover 135 ... Found only bookmarked images on net! So, ignored them!

If by 'crowd puller' they mean the styling's preposterous, then I agree with them.(it's a personal take)
Only Bajaj can put a flat seat and four gears in a bike and still call it 'sporty'.(read DISCOVER)
I am sorry,I have been a Bajaj fanboy for long and have always defended it everywhere. But seeing as what they always do with the Discover,I am losing the will to live.I have been ranting about it from the start.
And the Discover for me,was the bike that I had most looked forward to see as a performance-practicality hybrid. But I guess with the new 'sporty' Discover,it's pretty much out of the question.
Would I buy the Sprint if it came out as it was showcased in the expo? Not bloody likely. Not if the Sprint traces it's origin to a 'commuter' bike and wants to be in the same line as performance.Just upping the power doesn't make a good bike.
We want the Roush Mustang not the Shelby.
It should have been the Discover from the start,'the outcast'.And I guess LP da will agree.

Per *********, the storey has been otherway round. The XCD Sprint is going to have 150 cc engine which will rival FZ-16.

There is no proper proof by *********, but he is telling the source is credible.

Why whats wrong with Pulsar150 Dtsi??? XCD sprint a 150cc!! taking on FZ!! given the looks,it wud be funny. But the fact is also that why did Platina got a good 125cc engine despite XCD sprint to be launched just next.Less speculations, lets have the XCD Sprint pics rather.

Do you think that puny moped is capable of holding 14-16 bhp engine??? If anybody is eying to compete FZ or Hunk than they need bull sized built. I dont see XCD as a sporty 150cc bike.

They should rather upgrade P150 with 4 valve engine & completely refresh looks. Put present 2 valve engine in Discover 150. So that one will cater to performance segment & other will take care of commuter segment.

Rather than upgrading XCD's engine capacity they should keep it 125 only but couple it with 4 valves. So same strategy will work here like in 150cc, XCD 125 4v for performance & Platina 125 2v for commuter.

Whats your opinion????

the whole auto industry is going thru a beautiful depression.manufacturers defaulting money on vendors..vendors not supplying to manufacturers..all in a big slump.i will not expect a huge change in design then..just changes..example if the air hole was at the back now its at front.
but a complete new design in this big huge slump, chances are slim.

Agreed, you have point. We will see slowdown in auto industry as well.

its not "will"...it has already started.if you see the truck or LCV and HCVs tatas and ashok leylands already are in process of heavy shut downs of their plants to cope up with the current loss.shut down as in heavy cut in production since demand is very slim.two wheeler industry also showed a huge slip in growth.four wheelers are also following..so its a loss situation for all.banks not giving loans.customers have no money.so no purchase power.so no income for the industries.so no wages to the workers.which in turn again no buying power for them also.one big soup we are in.

and back then i think according to my memory bajaj said it will be launching kawasaki ninja line or a glimpse around diwali.
