is what ways? in terms of power/style?!

@samarth: for me, when i look at these litre bikes in India, it feels like caged 'ghost and the darkness'. if you know what i mean.
so yes, FZ1 is what you call a big bike. alrite. but a good 250cc bike with a resonable price tag and which stands a step ahead of zma is what i would call as a good and big move by yammies.
and this is something i am looking forward to as my next buy and to dump my present 180ug3.

my 2 pncs. peace!

Just a sec, a 250 CC bike ??? Than even a carb one would be more powerful than R 15 and that won't feel the gap, it will be more costlier than R 15 for sure. So 250CC bike speculations are wrong.

What i see is FZ engine is coming in R 15's body (no radiator and other high technology) but will offer a fully-faired bike to those who would not like to invest 1 Lakh, but are good with 80K. Also that bike will have heavy tires just like FZ, so people who skipped R 15 for it's thin tyer profile will now be tempted to grab this bike.

Simple, marketing gimmick...

Question Speculation !

An appropirate model at this point of time for Yamaha would be the Fazer250 (semi faired, priced at ~1lac). This would freshen up 225+cc segment plus Yamaha can easily eat into 'Zma' pie, which is substantially good in number.

i agree on this, this is the right time to bring in a 250 since there is no confirmed news of the ninja and also any other manufacturer claiming to get one here. If Yamaha could do it now, they are winners.

I'd stick my neck out (and prob recieve a lot of flak for it !!) and say that this is just the regular 160cc FZ with a half fairing!! It cant be too powerful (as in >20 bhp ) as its got dear drum !! Altho I shud know better as my 27 bhp Aquila has a rear drum !!! And even the size is mostly the same !! so thr ....

Alright.....so it seems confirmed that the FZ with a semi fairing is coming soon enough. However, this fairing's gonna increase its weight by may be couple of kgs, hmmmm! The bike now definitely looks big and would be the most stunning Indian bike for sure.
