The R15 has 5 sensors.
Crank position sensor, Throttle position sensor, Intake pressure sensor, Intake temperature sensor and coolant temperature sensor. Its an open loop system and can never adjust to additional changes. Adding a freeflow filter will lean out the mixture even further. You will need to manually richen the mixture by changing the AFR.
The R15 does not have an O2 sensor to automatically vary the AFR.
Open loop systems are cheaper and widely used on low capacity engines.

Do we know how much to increase the idle RPM.

Probably we should say goodbye to the aftermarket air filters for R15. Or can anything really be done about it.

Damn man...i thought the only simple mod that could be done to an R15 was the filter...now even that seems to be a complex affair....btw...can a aftermarket lambda(O2) sensor be fitted to the R15's system ..??

that would require an entire change in the system.. after all the ECU has to understand the sensor to actually do something !

not possible practically i reckon.

but note that you CAN change the AFR by some instrument Killer has mentioned. but you have to know who has such an instrument !

Just checked out the wikipedia. They say that a separate O2 sensor can be attached to the vehicle and Air Fuel ratio can be tuned for high performance. 2 Types of meters are available: narrow band and wide band, later being more efficient. This will also determine the fuel being lean or richer. But I am not sure how this system will be attached to the ECU of R15.

The sensor may be available, but how do u plan to attach it to the ECU? The ECU should support these inputs and calculate the fuel inputs accordingly. I do not think it is as easy and cheap as it looks. Cos if it were so cheap and easy, the companies would have very well used the closed-loop system instead of the open-loop system.
