Thumbs up can ZEUS engine be retuned for a GS125es power figure?

This post I make out of inquisition as if any suggestions are available to retune the Suzuki Zeus Engine to perform like the Suzuki GS125es,the International Suzuki 125cc bike?

The GS125es puts out 14hp power while the Zeus sheds of a lowly 9hp only.A friend of mine has a Zeus ready for experimentation .............as its 1.5 yrs old now.

So what are the options available to make this bike perform like its international variant atleast on its power delivery part? (this might axe the ability of the bike to shed max torque at only 3000rpm, but still the power is more required for now )

Please help.........

though I dont know anything about the Zuki 125es, but as for the Zeus, I strongly doubt if it can be retuned/redone/enhanced to deliver anything more than what it is churning right now.

For the current Zeus delivers only 8.5 bhp @ 7000 rpm, dont know how much can we enhance the performance so as to get the power delivered in close range to 13-14 bhp.

The Zeus, which shares its Engine from the Donor Suzuki Heat 125 was built to withstand the brutual onslaught of Indian Climate, low maintainence, poor quality Fuel. The engines have done their part and we have seen the Heat and Zeus with 150000 to 200000 kms on odo and with still no signs of Engine Fatigue.

But if any one can retune/redo the engines, no one would be more happy then US.

If it is any thing like the relation between crf 230 and karizma then it can be done al beit with very high and unworthy cost.

So, you are imagining almost 50% increase?

Dude, Zues has a Bore-Stroke of 53.5 mm x 55.2 mm, whereas GS125 has 57 x 48.8mm. In other words, while these 2 bikes have similar technology like 2 valves single, air cooled, etc., they are still different in nature...

14 bhp is good, but just imagine how high is 9500 rpm, for a 125cc engine. It's obvious that it will have some shortcomings, right? Like say, less power in some areas of powerband, more noise, etc.
People complain of Gladiator's mid range torque, while its top end is good enough at 11 bhp. Getting me?

STILL, If you would still like a good job done on the Zues, you may try reboring, upto 4 mm or so. Get in touch with "Joel", a member of our site.
Unfortunately, he lives in/around Bangalore, so you might have to take someone else's help instead of him...
Apart from that, you may use a different Crankshaft.
That should make it quite powerful, but touching 14 bhp is still not a joke, so you MAY have to add a K&N with a good jet and a better silencer, which obviously will make it a noisy bike.

Frankly speaking, I never saw a bike with 50% more power, due to modding. I mean, that would make a P220 with 30 bhp, wouldn't it?

I absolutely agree to that......................but the international spec 125cc of Suzuki isnt also such a complex unit afterall, there must be some trickery that the manufacturers have got up their sleeve like sparking time, carburation apart from the boring issues u said.I will get down with Joel on this one but as you know.............according to him u cant get a sportsbike outta PMs

Thats why here is a whole new thread out for opinions and opinions are the ones that is scarce here

Are you keen on maintaining its 125cc's??? if not then its not a big prob at all, just bore it more and correct the carburettion (Add big carb), though its not as easy as it sounds but it is very much doable, 14bhp is skeptical though. Expect somewhere around 13bhp for 150cc if the mod job is good. Remember to make it an oversquare unit(dont stroke anymore, increase only bore dia). Reliablility totally depends on the quality of the mod job done..
All the best and keep us updated on the ordeal!!

International model may have high performance engine internals compared to Indian Zeus. For similar reasons, Unicorn has 13.4bhp instead of 16.5 bhp, and Zma 17 bhp instead on 20 bhp. The high performance parts are different from normal ones right from grain structure of the materials used to manufacturing techniques adopted.

Indian Zeus cannot be altered for higher performance, even if you do there would be some 'after effects' which will be bad experience.

I recently went through all Suzuki 125ccs available in different countries of Earth and went for their engine configurations. What turned out to me that Suzuki has two distinct mills of 125ccs.
One mill which is the base mill for Zeus and Heat is actually derived from the Shogun 125 series of underbones which has Bore/stroke of 53.5x55mm standard for all variants. Its highest level of power is upto 10bhp only. Now variations exists over torque figures...........somewhere Power is 9.96hp and somewhere it is 10.04hp and the lowest spec is of India that is 8.83hp but nowhere this engine puts up 10nm at 3000rpms except India. So it has been concluded that even without the XTP tech this engine has the max potential of 10hp only with its original bore/stroke ratio.(compression ratios vary-for India it is 9.6:1 and for most other countries its 9.2:1).This Engine is predominant in Indonesia,Malaysia,Thailand,Phillipines and India.
The other mill which is a performer has Bore/stroke of 57mmx47mm and .2 to.3mm variance around it.This engine has potential from 12 to 14 hp.Mostly used in bikes like Thunder,Vanvan,GX125..........the engine is low on torque. This engine is predominant in China,Thailand,Britain,Japan and in Europe and Latin America.

Now so from this it can be concluded that at original bore/stroke Zeus is not much a performer even at International spec. The bore has increased in and stroke decreased in performance 125s but this change cannot be done for Zeus spec engine....................I am only aware of mods that increase boring and not that decrease storkes. Thus if the Zeus engine has to be modified, its cc has to change.

Thanks to all members of Xbhp who helped me in realizing the fact of bore/stroke indetermining engine character and the factors its responsible for which brought me to study the international models available and know the truth by participating in this thread.

By this I am not closing my query as opinions for reboring and increasing the machines performance is still in need.......................Thanx again
