hey guys i'm planning to upgrade to hid and also getting the twin beam modification. But my question is since hid takes up a bit of time to light up properly, will my pass light become useless? Also wanna know what to ask for while purchasing the relay for the twin beam modification. Other than my indicators and headlights, i have everything led but i also have some additional leds which you could see in my led thread. Wanted to know whether that could lead to battery draining after undergoing twin beam modification.

The twin beam mod is amazing i must say!

I would like to know if HIDs are available in the normal colour(not blue or white). The white beam is a little painful during rains.

I did this mod on my 220 Fi. But I used +ve from Hi beam bulb to power the relay coil ie to 87. This way no extra wire is required to go to the battery.

The illumination is amazing with both Hi Lo on, but I saw the battery drain indicator light up whenever I turn both beams on even when rpm was above 4K. What is a solution to this? I'm already using LED pilot lamps.

Do I need a powerful coil (generator)?
I'm planning to replace the numberplate lamp with a led to save some more power.

I joined in Oct 2009 and this is my first post... but I keep the site open on my PC be it in office or at home...

I have replaced the number plate lights and parking lights with SMD lamps, but I still have the issue of battery draining, a lot noticeable when the bike is at idle. Still though while riding if I honk, the horns sound like they are being strangled to death by the twin lamps... but sound is decent enough to let others know of our presence behind them and none of the lights flicker due to lack of power from battery..
My bike is more than 2 years old and I haven't checked the battery and I haven't taken my bike for servicing for 5 months now..(I do it myself and did not check the battery) so I am not ruling out the possibility of battery being the issue.

Gr8 thread Rahuldevnath (for this dual beam mod and the console color change thread)

i hav been reading the thread all day...
gr8 setup
I got some small Questions to ask
1) i got the new speed lines edition and hav been using hid(8k) 55w for 7-8 months now.. now i find that the hid has gone a bit dim and it even flickers sometimes.. ny guess why???
2) the high beam is tilted towards the left... wat to do abt that.. as i believe the screws behind the headlight assembly only adjust the height..ny ways to go abt that..
3) cud you guyz suggest a good company that gives good quality HID(that doesnt dim with time) as i am currently using a raylux hid mentioned above..
4) difference between normal and slim balast(power, current, lighting, etc)
please enlight one last doubt guys here: difference B/w 55W and 35W Hid in terms of light, heat plz

i would hav tried this mod earlier but frankly scared of opening my new bike
