Default Reprogramming the Fi System in Karizma?

as we all know that the latest version of the karizma offers pgm-fi,which was developed by honda....the same kind of system was used in honda cars and fireblades.....so there has been a lot of aftermarket tuning to this system.......i`m curious to know if the ecu n the zmr can be reprogrammed?....is there a chance of remapping the ecu?.........members please shed some light on this

A factory fitted ECU can not be reprogrammed so easily. But, if a custom aftermarket ECU can be fitted, it will be reprogrammable.

exactly .... abhi is right... but , every single car and bike comes with a factory fitted one...obvious.. there are two choices after that... either get the ecu hacked by a very good professional.. and get it remapped , or settle in for a good after market ecu... altering the ecu makes u lose factory tuned settings..hampering ur engine life... thats one chance all take..

I dont think the factory fitted ECU's are reprogrammable, they come with single write EEPROMS i guess.

Thats why everyone i have heard of buys a reprogrammable one seperatly

Here are some web resources....

ECU hacking

ECU Tuning

I am guessing the PROMS used are EPROMS rather than EEPROMS.

Hi guys if you can get your hands on the scan read and write tools from the service centre guys there is a possibility that u can alter the settings OR if you u know someone working in R&D of hero honda will be the best AND the third option, its still getting evolved. The people from racedynamics(bangalore) have developed an ecu for R-15 and are working on other bikes. They should be out soon with the ecu.(and they are the only ecu makers in India)
