Default Flasher Enabled Head Light Flash for Just Rs.1/-

Hi all,

After a long break, here’s my new DIY tweak on Head lights. It's nothing but a flasher enabled pass light function All of you know that there’s a pass light switch on the back side of the LH side handle bar. We all know when and how to use it, am sure that all of us have dreamt of having a continuous flash function once the switch is activated without pressing and de pressing it continuously. At least I thought of it whenever I see a vehicle coming carelessly from the opposite side Honking is not effective for a moron who is busy with the phone call during the drive especially when he drives a car as the modern cars have adopted the best NVH reduction systems. It's the best way to flash him continuously to get the attention in such situation

Here’s it what I was talking about. It's very simple, anyone who knows how to solder the joints and have 10 mins to spare.

NOTE: This is mod is not meant for bikes running with HID lamps as it will decrease the life of the kit by the frequent flashing.

The spares required:
IN 4001 diode -1
4 CM wire of med gauge

Tools:
Soldering Iron of 25W.
Lead & Flux
Star head screw driver again depends on the switch gear assy.

The Circuit:
Its nothing hifi but routing the power supply through the turn indicator flashing device to the HL wire and there by its flashing

How:
Open the LH side switch gear assy, locate the flash switch wires, some of the bikes will have a DC line to it, if it's DC line de solder it and secure it properly with a good insulation as we don’t need this hot wire for this mod. (Any point of time you can go back to the stock condition by connecting it back)

Unscrew the indicator switch from the assy and locate the middle pin, take a parallel connection with the 4 CM wire we’ve taken as spare from the middle pin without disconnecting the other stock wire. Connect the other end of the 4 CM wire to the flash switch input from where we have disconnected the stock wire initially.

U R Done…. But not fully…

Before that let’s check the circuit.

Now turn the switch key on, hold down the flash switch and watch out.. The high beam should blink in preset intervals.

If it's working fine, lets finish the job by putting the diode in between the pass light out and the high beam wire in the forward manner(keep the black end to the flash switch out and the silver strip end to the high beam wire) This will ensure the reverse flow to secure the other electricals.

I hope it's clear to everyone.

I am running with a bi-xenon HID projector and 2X55W spot lamps as aux lamps. It's not possible to flash with a HID as it requires warming up time, so for flashing, I will use the spots. The first half of the video is both the spots and HID on action which is meant for screwing up a high beam riding moron and the second half only the spots.

OK, OK, I know the first part is surely an irritating one but it's just for remind them that they are screwing my visibility. I will not light up the whole thing continuously on a crowded road. 2-3 flashes will do the job for a person who knows the reason behind of it.

Here’s the video for the demonstration:

Very detailed and useful DIY and
Reminds me of...............
Long way back I connected the turn signal positive of my friends Bajaj Sunny to its headlamp to see what will happen and couldn't laugh more for more than an hour for irritating the oncoming traffic.

I have seen something like this recently, but flashing every 3 to 5 seconds and permanently on that mode, one on a Scorpio who was behind me, damn annoying, second was on an Innova, surprisingly he was using it more sensibly and lastly on a scooter, he had a halogen on low and xenon on high beam, thought the old fellow was cuckoo frantically flashing, then have seen him subsequently and realised it's a permanent fixture.

Definitely not for the masses! good idea though, sure it has some good use, especially on Ghat sections.

Thanks mate, Ha ha.. very true, this was the real inspiration which happened to me years back once I connected the aux lamp relay power wire to the turn switch. If the load its routed through the relay, it will dance properly.

Tthanks dude, what all details u need? Can u be bit more specific? Its very simple to adopt any one have a general idea in eletrical. Its just because the wire colours and contact points will be different from model to model, hence I didnt post any pics of WIP.

Default Great Mod

Amazing one bro. I was thinking of doing the pass light thing on my activa, but with a switch - push to activate type (like the horn button).

Will i need a relay or can i wire it directly ?

Nice mod there. With the flasher rated at 21x2W, how did you use it to flash 2 HIDs + 2 55W halos? Isn't that a bit too much?

Thats flasher enabled third brake light where once u press the brake pedal the brake light will flash 2-5 times depends on the preset settings and after that it will come to a steady glow like in the normal brake light. This feature will give better visibility/attention about the vehicle moving infront of u and I found its worth to install for places where foggy climate or even on deserted highways to alert the following vehicles.

This is what I was reffering to:
Blinking Smart Stop - Flashing Brake Light

Actually its meant for the third brake light only, but here many have adpoted to all brake lights for a bling factor. And I must admit that am no exception, have done this to my car for a while but the transistors are heating like anything because of the load. Cant ease the load by relays as its a noisy affair in the car.
