I decided to try bypassing the battery saving feature. And now the lights and the horn work without having to start the engine.
But I decided to take a cleaner path to do this. I separated the white plug and inserted a bare wire to connect the two pins inside. And I connected the white plug back again.
By doing this we won't have to cut the original wires and lose the warranty.
When the next service is due all I have to do is to remove the bare wire. Leaves no traces of the bypass.
