It was "check the liter class bikes" day for me. I havent seen any superbikes in person till date and i just wanted to see what it feels like to be in the presence of one , to feel it , to hug it and some day make it a part of you.

After checking out the R1 in the morning and being completely blown by the looks of it and its sheer size i headed to Honda Wing World in Sakinaka , Mumbai to see the Fireblade.

Even if the Newer Fireblade is not like the older one which was more sharp and mean looking but the newer one has a character of its own , more than the looks its the overall package the fireblades colors are simply stunning. Liked the Digital Silver Metallic and the Repsol Fireblade, no amount of Pics and videos can do justice to what these look in real.

Breathtaking is how i would like to describe these amazingly made machines and guys who own it are lucky and have worked real hard to ride with it as one.

Well that sums the Best "Saturday" 07 May 2011 in my life with the 2011 YFZ R1 and the 2011 Honda CBR Fireblade.

I still would like to ride these any Mumbai guys would like to help this guy get a feel of it. Am i dreaming or is this a stupid question.

It happened today. Got to ride what probably is one of the best motorcycle ever produced from sheer engineering perspective. Frankly the pre 08 is the bike i lust after sice 05. It had it all, performance and that sharp inya face looks. So when the 08 was released I like most other people thought that honda has messed this one up. Then the motousa comparo came in and they judged it as the best sbk. Still the looks.. And then as half a year went by i suddenly decided that this was one the best looking bikes. It surely is a design that grows on you. The front is like a delicately sculptured artwork.

So today when friend introduced me to one of his blade owning friend I greedily asked him for a ride (knowing within that it was probably too much of an ask). Surprisingly he agreed (later asked him why he allowed me to ride his bike. he answered that it was bcoz of my n250r and the gear i wore that conviced him that i was safe enough.)

Now his is 2010 model ,blacked coloured with those wicked golden alloys. Its completely stock and yes we did have a discussion about possible mods. Sat on the bike and felt fairly comfortable, comfortable w.r.t 07 yamaha r1 and 600rr my only other BIG BIKE experience.Started the bike and it wasn't as dramatic as the r1. It has a rather muted roar. Stalled the bike on my first attempt at releasing the clutch, was bit to careful. on second attempt i got it right and i was off. The pull right of low revs is amazing. Did not even dare to rev it beyond 7-8k rpm. Did a max of 150 something (had mentally set it as the max i would attempt) .i've gone faster than that but this is by far the best way i've reached 150kays. But for me it was the utter compactness, nimbleness and balance of the bike that made my day. It feels just a fraction heavier than my ninja at low speed and has a high speed stability thats miles ahead.

All in all a day and experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Long live the ceebeer.

One Day I Will.....
